As a actual Polk resident and I do support Sheriff Judd, I don’t agree with this implementation. Practically everything Desantis mentions is already illegal. Throwing anything at officers, illegal. Destruction of public/private property, illegal. Impeding a roadway, illegal.
With the implementation of these new laws, they are not removing any older ones, just piling on more. Just like gun laws, why do we need more of the same. Just enforce the existing. Sheriff Judd had no problem shutting them down and arresting instigators when BLM/Antifa showed up. Hell Sheriff Judd was so up BLM/Antifas ass that officers were already on location and setup before BLM/Antifa got to their regroup secondary location the next day. The districts of the state that are actually having problems with BLM/Antifa have also been infiltrated by so called Democrats, Tampa, Ybor City, Miami, Jacksonville, Orlando....
While I do agree with that these are beyond ludicrous times, it is also equally ludicrous measures. Sheriff Judd while outstanding, will not always be Sheriff, just like Desantis. What recourse is there if a unscrupulous Sheriff or governor takes office and turns this against you, just like other areas of the country. If implemented as spoken about in the press release, you could be arrested, charged with a felony, mandatory 6mo jail term, for jay walking. It would be a court battle of your word against the officers. Just look at how the so called red flag laws are being abused now in Fl. The latter I witness fuck with a few people I know already.
This is not headed in the right direction. If we go full left circle, we get a nanny state that knows what’s best for you and everything is illegal because of hurt feelings and safe spaces. If you go full right circle we get a police state and unilateral govt power because we must stamp out all crime. The end result is still the same with normal peoples rights getting trampled.

Way to much of Florida has just become the dumping grounds of everyone pissed about the shithole that they live in. They just move here and then vote the same way from the area they left. I live in St. John’s Florida right outside Jax, and grew up in Jax and I’ve watched it first hand.
The area that I live in now is absolutely littered with two primary types of people. Those from Jax that got tired of it becoming the Democrap hole that so many of our big cities have become that they moved here. The other type is those from up north. Lately it’s becoming 2 to 1 of new people in my zip code now from what I’ve seen in growth over the last decade of northerns moving here and then complaining about how Florida isn’t like where ever the hell they came from. We dodged a bullet with Andrew Gillum, but I fear next time we might not be so lucky, and we’ll become the new Cali.
