Gunsmithing Floating/ Bedding

Just did a bedding job on my B&C, from the DIY post. My question is how far back should the barrel be floated? Is it all the way back to the lug, or how far? Wondering if I screwed up. Barrel is floated all the way back to about 1" from the lug were it runs into the bedding compound.

You can float it all the way back to the lug. Or you can put a 1- 1.5" pad in front of the lug. That sounds like what you did. Id say your fine.
