Gunsmithing Flush Cups on Manners Stock

Received a Manners PRS1 w/ carbon fiber shell. Unfortunately the front flush cup was put on the wrong side of the rifle. I understand I could send it back to the them to get it fixed but that means I'd be without it for who knows how long. I read that installing new flush cups seems straight forward. My concern, however, is going/drilling through the carbon fiber shell and damaging it (crack, tear, etc).

So that here are the questions: Is it doable safely ? and if so, has anyone done it and how ?
