I'm looking for an AR magazine that is flush fitting for use in an upper I have that does not have a free floating handguard. I want to use it with a sandbag rest, but I'd rather rest it on the magwell so I don't put any pressure on the barrel.

I've seen pro mag has a flush fit, but their reputation is less than stellar. I'll probably put a single round follower in, but I'd still like a decent mag to start with.

About as flush as possible. The rear of the baseplate is millimeter or so from touching the magwell.

Even if your handgaurd dose not touch a barrel that is not free floated has pressure on it. They make a ff tube for NM comp that uses stock handgaurds or just ff the barrel with a tube. Trying to balance on the magwell is not very accurate any short mag is going to be hard to find and will not hold many rounds if you are shooting single shot with a bobslead you can cut any mag down and just use the top half .Don't know what your are trying to gain but there are oother ways to get there I.M.O. If your trying to save money on a bench rig good luck there is no free lunch in the quest for the one hole group.

I'm not trying to make a cheap bench rig - I have other precision rifles for precision shooting. Rather, I'd like to shoot my as accurately as it possibly can. To that end, I have read that ARs usually shoot better when rested on the magazine or magwell than on a non free floated handguard. I can try and find when I read that if you are interested. This certainly makes sense to me as it would seem to alleviate any pressure inconsistencies on the barrel, which of course are detrimental to accuracy.
