A while back I ordered a McMillan stock and opted to get flush cups instead of regular studs thinking it would give me more versatility for adding different kind of sling studs and stuff. Can anyone point me to a good place to get flush cup studs for mounting slings and bipods and stuff?

Is there a place to buy these online? I'm not sure if I would trust any push-button ones for slings on a hunting rifle, or is that worry for nothing?

Check here... or call Grovtec...

I use flushcup slings on 99% of my hunting rifles... Never a problem...

I found these:

Triad has them too it looks like, but no brand is associated with them and they are almost half the price on Triad and they are currently out of stock

Would there be a sling that has flush cup mounts permanently attached? Don't really care if they are Wichita or stud to flush cup.

Reason I ask is, I had a sling become undone once, resulting in an AR15 hitting the ground and do not want to risk it with my new build. Also had Dunlop straplocks on a Paul Reed Smith guitar give out one time, luckily my reflexes are heightened when a $2,000 guitar is falling, and these are the same type of design.

I was thinking there was more options for flush cups, but I should have done my research before ordering the stock.

Re: Flushcups and their accessories

As I said, Triad's cups & swivels are Grovetec. I bought them from the website and they came in a little purple sack that said GROVETEC on it. They are not brandless junk, and they are steel... they will not spontaneously let go. Honestly, I think QD is a bit of a misnomer for the ones I got, they are hard to pop out of the cups but I don't mind.

Those ones you linked come with pop-in studs, that's why they are expensive. Triad also carries those if that's what you want, but at that rate you might as well just use regular studs because you've just defeated the QD feature that makes flush cups great. You'll need a pin or allen wrench to unhook those. Reinventing the wheel, and a waste of effort IMHO. The only thing I see those as useful for is putting a bipod on a flush cup.

EHG linked you what you need for a typical setup, it's a pair of cups and a pair of swivels. Put the swivels on your sling just like regular swivels, and epoxy the cups into your stock. McMillan has already done the hard part for you by installing the cups, so you really only need the swivel part which is available here:
http://www.triadtactical.com/Push-Button-QD-Swivel-1.25.html

Some slings come with push-button swivels on them, both TIS and TAB make a variety. Mountain Shooter here on the hide makes very nice slings as well, and you can spec them with the push-button swivels. To clarify, Witchita swivels do not interface with flush cups, they are screwed to metal plates in the stock. These are a no-go for you at this point.

You keep insisting that you don't trust flushcups, yet you don't have much choice since you had your stock made with them. You can have MCM add studs in other spots, or just give flush cups a go. Otherwise, then use those stud adapters and forget you ever had QD.

Re: Flushcups and their accessories

I think I'm going with Triad. I need a sling too and I see that if I order a sling from them, it comes with Flush-cups! Any advice on slings? Torn between the basic TAB and those other ones (TIS) with the cuffs.

Re: Flushcups and their accessories

Bit late in the conversation...

I bought the Multi Adapter Stud and some extra flush cup sling loops from Triad and they were all made by GroveTec- which I believe is the standard in quality and durability. Also, as others have already stated, Triad's service is top notch.

My rifle is a 'do everything' so I opted for flush cups instead of studs to keep the profile clean. I use the multi adpater stud at the range for when I want to shoot with a bipod. It is excellent for that purpose and I've had no problems so far. The rest of the time I have a sling clipped in. I also have sling loops connected to my back pack so my rifle can clip onto the bag for long hauls.

Flush cups are the Cat's pajamas. They really do not unfasten easily as you have to push and pull at the same time. Not something that happens by 'accident.'

Disregard!
