Finally mounted my Redfield Widefield 3-9x40 on my FN 30-11 .308 and went to the local range. Figured I'd show off one of the results, despite the paltry distance of 50 meters
(I will be going to the nearby 100 meter outdoor range soon and post those results as well)
5 shots of 147 grain Sellier & Bellot FMJ's off the bipod. Group in question is the one in the Birchwood Casey sticker. The other holes are to be ignored as they're from a friend who gave me his old target as I forgot to bring mine They're from an Enfield FAL he was shooting in.
Group measures about 13mm or .512
I figure this shows some of its potential despite the range and use of non-Match rounds. And the fact the back of the range was somewhat obscured by smoke from 3 people shooting blackpowder, including a 1875 double barrel, and the air system having trouble keeping up
Oh, and with the scope being mounted pretty high on the STANAG mount, and my lack of spacers for the stock, it's pretty impossible atm to get a proper cheekweld. But the strapon cheekpad I ordered should arrive tomorrow atleast.
Anyway, enough with the excuses,
