FN TRS or Tikka T3 scout

i have been looking for a sub $1000 308 rifle and it looks like either a the fN TRS or the Tikka t3 scout.
what are your thoughts.im leaning towards the t3 scout.
the rifle will be used mostly for 200-600 yard shooting.
im not a newbie i just dont have any experience with either brand(i do have a sako trg42 in 338lm)

I dont think you can go wrong with either. I have a FN SPR, and used to own a FN PBR and have loved both. FN makes awesome guns. My college roomate 2 years ago had the Tikka scout in .223 and it was a tac driver. They have butter smooth actions to. My only minus with Tikkas are the plastic cheap feeling magazines, and the ugly shaped trigger guard, which of course is just a cosmetic nit pic.

I have a scout in .308 on the way. It should be hear on Monday. I will be doing a range report shortly there after. I don't think you can go wrong with either gun. I just liked the trigger and action on the Tikka best!

I have no experience with any FN bolt guns, but FN makes some of the best handguns I've ever used.

My father purchased a Tikka T3 a while back. I couldn't believe how smooth the action was. It also had the best trigger on a stock rifle under $1000 that I have ever used.

both are great guns and the tikka rifles are very accurate however imo i think both are overpriced and you could get more for your money by getting a remington r5 or a savage 10 series in the mcmillan stock both can be found for 1050 if you shop around the r5 is ready to go out of the box and the savage just needs pillars and a bedding job

well i went with the T3 Scout.
it came down to i just liked it a little better.
plus my local gun shop had one for a really good price.
i will be going to the range this week.i will post in the range
report section on how it did.

I have not handled the FN, but have been very happy with my Tikka T3 Tac.

It shoots awesome, the action is incredibly smooth, and the trigger is pretty good.

I bought mine a few years ago when prices were a little more reasonable. With prices were they are today, I would purchase the scout over the tactical.

I got the Tikka tac when they were 899....... One of the best purchase for rifles.
