I just bought a NF 3X15X50 for my ground hog rig. And to say I am satisfied with it is an understatment. However I am having a slight problem with it. And I am sure someone will have a solution.

The scope has two knurled knobs. One for the power adjustment, and one for the focus adjustment. When I received the scope the focus adjustment ring was fairly loose.

I went to the range and focused the scope at 100 yards on a target to my eye. The I tightened the lock ring as hard as I could by hand. The problem is when I turn the power ring I have to be sure to pick the front knurled knob. If I grab the back knob the focus turns instead of the power.

I did not want to put a wrench or pair of pliers on the knurled ring(to tighten it). But is that the solution?? The power ring doesn't turn as smooth as my Swaro. scopes. It has more tension. And as long as I grab the proper knurled ring I do not have a problem.

However I find myself grabbing the wrong knurled knob while I am into the scope. What is the rememdy?? Pliers?? Tom.

Re: Focus Adjustment on NF Scope

This is somewhat typical for their design. I solved it by adding a cat tail to the power ring on several of my NF scopes. They make it easy and fast to turn just the power ring without disturbing the focus. One example-Three Gun Stuff. There are others. This sort of solution has been discussed here and on other sites so a search will help you find alternatives.

I'm sure this hasn't worked for everyone but it did for me. Best of luck
