I have a question for the guys who have been there and done that. I'm getting ready to build a new rifle and would like your thoughts on triggers. When out plying your trade what kind of triggers/trigger pull weights do you use and why. I'm also looking for preferred types, reliability etc. Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm looking for some reasons why some are better than others. Is a heavier pull better for battlefield condition where equipment takes a beating, just stuff like that.

Thanks dmtsc

Ditto here. We don't get to put aftermarket triggers in our rifles (as a general rule, there are exceptions) so we shoot what we are given. The M24 comes with the Remington 40X trigger so that is what we shot, with around 2.5-3.5 pounds of pull weight.

Not a sniper for any agency but I have used Rem, Rifle basix, Rem x-mark, and a jewel. I will say the jewel rocked but I felt it was set too low. The rifle Basix is nice but i feel it could be more. The X-mark just plain sucks. My favorite by far has been my old style Rem trigger. Breaks clean and I adjusted my self.
