There is a gun lube called "Safari Charlie" that takes Krylon off really well. Or it did on one of my rifles. Before I just would paint over as needed but now I just soak a rag in it and then wipe the gun down.

On a similar note, has anyone come across a decent gun camo tape that is NOT latex based?

Until I decide to paint my better toys, I imagine that a decent camo tape could temporarily fill the need. So far, all the ones I've found with decent patterns seem to be latex based - a strict no-no for me.

This thread has given me a bit of hope, though, in case the search comes up empty...
