For you AICs stock conversion guys?

Re: For you AICs stock conversion guys?

Are you positive? Have you handled or talk to someone who has? I'd really hate to spend over $100 to find out. I did notice the magazine system is a bit different.

Re: For you AICs stock conversion guys?

now that i think about it, i think my version was the spring version, NOT the gas. the gas version is like over $400 and it wouldnt make sense to sell it for $99 in the boneyard section.

i think my G96 is the same one as the link you provided.

i can take some clearer pictures tonight under the magwell

Re: For you AICs stock conversion guys?

The one you linked is the spring version, and will have a large hole under the fore grip of the stock for the airsoft magazine to fit into. The gas version has the magazine in the same place as the real stock. The spring version also will not have any type of magazine cut out under the fake receiver of the rifle, but will be smooth. The gas version that you see for sub 100$ price tag in boneyards is a clone of a more expensive 500$ airsoft gun. Brand new, the clones sell for 200-250$, which is why they are found for 90-100$ when broken. The most common thing to break for them is generally the gas workings of the rifle, thus you will rarely receive one with a broken stock.

Yeah I just saw that the magazine was located in a different area. Guess I'll be sticking with the gas version when ever I can find one. Thanks for the input!

Yes, you will want the gas version since that version most closesly matches the real thing (detachable magazine, dimensions, etc.) However you may or may not have to make slight modifications to the stock to fit your barreled action and also tighten up the folding mechanism of the stock. I had to make modifications to mine when I did my mod with CZ452 varmint. Also keep looking you can find these stocks all the time in boneyard sections of airsoft websites.
