Forster Honed Neck of FLS Die to Wrong Dimension, Thoughts?

Finally took the plunge and decided to have my FLS die neck honed so I can scrap my expander ball. My loaded rounds measure .337" at the neck. I think it is a hair over that, more like .3372 but my micrometer only measures to the .0005" and we are starting to split hairs. After consulting with someone at Forster, they recommended I hone my neck to .335". I decided I wanted a little more neck tension and eventually settled on requesting the neck be honed to .3345". In the past I have neck sized with a lee collet die but am seeing if I can combine the shoulder bump/neck size step.

I get the die back and this is the receipt:

Not sure if it is as clear in the picture but where it says "Q to .3345"" is scribbled with blue pen to read, .3340". The bottom line confirms again that they honed it to .3340".

Will I ever notice a difference accuracy-wise? Is it possible they did me a favor and just communicated poorly? Should I have them replace the die with one that meets the spec I paid for? (leaning toward this last option)

I appreciate any insight/opinion you may offer.

And FWIW, I don't want this thread to come off as bashing Forster. I've had many good experiences with them in the past. I've just never dealt with anything quite like this and am not quite sure how to handle it.

I also had a 308 Win die honed out by Forester. They said the max dimension they would hone it out to is .335", but they preferred .333" or .334" because they could get better concentricity. I have only used the die on one set of once fired Lapua brass, and the die worked as advertised, but I still used an expander mandrel to size the neck up slightly. I found I can get similar results with my Whidden FL bushing die with the expander. I will still use the FL Forester die if I ever decide to turn necks.

I was complaining on forums 10 years ago that bushings dimensions are a no go and Forster hones are a go.

Forster on the phone never speaks to me like anything other than a dumb consumer [Sweet female voices that just try to calm me down].... but then they came out with 0.0005" increments, and cut their error in half.

STILL, I am a Gopher shooting supply / Bonanza / Forster happy consumer.

Half a thou? Maybe they don't hone to that close of a tolerance? Or at least maybe not a custom hone?

Methinks you would never, ever notice that difference. Since you haven't tried bushings to pin down that "perfect" tension, then you don't really know for sure if that half is going to make it better or maybe worse? I'd leave it

Btw Forster are dinks on the phone. I called then about the die seating with some inconsistency, and they were useless. Ended up honing the staying stem myself.

Great tools, poor cs, the guy talked to me like I was a five year old idiot

Thanks everyone for your replies. It was one of those weeks. Will let you guys know how it works this week if I get the chance. Clark, nice to hear from you again. Hope life's treating you well.
