For anyone who lives in San Diego and Southern California.
I had been looking for someone in the area to re barrel my tikka tac a1 with a new Bartlein blank and called just about every shop within 50 plus miles. Many shops down here have straight up stopped answering their phones and voicemails because of how busy they have been, which makes it very difficult to get questions answered before driving 30 plus minutes each way.
I came across this smaller family owned shop in La Mesa called Fine Firearms. The guys there were extremely knowledgeable and friendly and straight to the point. They have done tons of barrel jobs and supposedly they build a ton of competition prs style rifles. I left my tikka with them and currently there turn around is about 2 weeks!
I'll post back after I get my rifle back but if anyone is looking for a Smith in San Diego/ Southern California I would definitely give them a call. If they can't do it themselves, they can refer you to someone who can.
I don't want to spoil my new honey hole but they also had tons of primers/ bullets/ and some powder in stock.
