I called all the dealerships to buy a new C8 Corvette but nobody has one. The entire 2020 production year is sold out. What a terrible business model!

Honestly, I appreciate that we can't always get what we want when we want it. Gives us time to look at other options and evaluate whether we really want to commit. I also think a business that produces a limited run or controls distribution is going to be better off through ups and downs in the economy. Tooling up to meet initial sales demand is how you go broke.

As others have said, Bergara has no reason to tell you how many of anything they ship to distros, or when they plan to do it.

It's near the end of the calendar year, and past the time when most hunting gear is sold, so everyone has intentionally allowed inventory to dwindle to avoid paying tax on it (or they are doing so). It's not unheard of for some to allow shipping containers to sit unopened until after July 1, so that the don't have to count the contents in inventory.

And the way distributor sales work in the gun industry, especially with scarce or popular items, you're not likely to get a straight answer, especially if you're not an actual customer.

Back in my firearms industry days, before retirement, I was there to have to deal with the election of the Kenyan twice and Sandy Hook. All created panic buying; all created both good and bad times for every level of the industry. As someone who worked closely with dealers, distributors I dealt with the sentiments expressed by @AZHUNT1121 almost on a daily basis. Our factory was turning out all the product they could and I was TOLD by many customers that we should just buy more machinery and make more guns to meet demand. It's hard to smile and say something like "sir, if we did do that it would take about two years to get the machines in place and the extra people trained to run them". One dealer, from CA no less, showed up at my booth at a distributor buying show with an order for 1,000 AR-15 lowers. Said he had "a note from CA DOJ' that said he was authorized to legally build them. Wanted to know just how fast I could get them shipped. It was involuntary but I could not hold back a laughing fit that al most made me pee my pants. When I got under control I simply said "sir, we build AR-15 rifles and I currently have orders for about $75 million worth. They all want them now and I should be able to provide your order in about two years".
I completely disagree with sentiment here. The first part of the post is of no use. If Bergara stopped making other calibers to turn full focus on 300 PRC then there would be massive complaints about why the other desirable calibers were so hard to find. We held proprietary the info on production figures, not because we didn't want customers to know, because we didn't want our competition to know. Part two of the OP post, IMO, should have been part one. What else should I look at in 300PRC? OP should understand this is a "tough-guy" forum (sarcasm) and tough talk is to be expected.

AGAIN Tokay444, I was just looking for a time frame when they are available.
You work for a company. You know exactly when all of your customers will receive the parts they’ve ordered, the second they order them? Because that’s near impossible.
I work for a very prominent machine tool builder, the likes of which your company may employ, or wish they could, and I can guarantee you, that isn’t how it works, unless something is a stock item and in inventory. How many items does your company make that are stocked in inventory?
I promise you, you have no idea how long something is going to take to be delivered from the minute it’s ordered.

As a new guy I am learning how to endear myself to the local community... by not being azhunt

It seems to me that you got your answer, when do they plan to have them available? They don't plan to.

What was this thread intended to do other than bitch?

Glad you noticed, lol...Yes, he’s a text book example of what not to do and how not to do it, especially if you’ve just got here and still have that “new plastic” smell about you.

At best, he’s guilty of not having a sense of humor.

It is their fault, increase production for the pending sales. It is simple supply and demand
As others have stated, you are an entitled little bitch.

A few years back when the AR market went ape shit, there was a large group of people who were dumbfounded at a year+ wait for an gun. (my cousin waited 2 years, it has never been out of the box). I heard a large amount of "they need to up production".

My response was "no, the bubble will burst. You should not have waited until a ban was on the block"

Now look at the AR market. After the PRC bubble burst what will Bergara do will all the added production capacity they accuired to make you happy?

People like you have no fucking clue how business works.
