Still thinning the herd a bit. I built this off a right bolt, right port repeater target action, stainless steel. It has a trued nss lug and nut, also has a rifle basix sav2 trigger set at 1.25lb. The barrel on the action currently is a 20" 8tw 243win with 5/8-24 muzzle. It was set up to strike a balance of range and ease for calling coyotes, but works great on steel also. It has a hs precision vertical grip stock that is skim bedded to receiver. Also has a badger 20moa steel rail on it, along with flushcups on left side and swivel for a harris.
Bolt lift is incredibly light, for a savage, mostly due to target actions being cnc machined and a step above standard savage actions. I also put in a bolt lift kit, I can open bolt from fired position with one finger. It is not as light as my impact, obviously, but it is similar/better than the worked over 700s I've owned.
I have 2 different loads worked up, 1 with 70gr blitzkings and the other with 107smk. Both shoot stupid good. I always ran this rifle with a 275yd zero with 70gr blitzkings, did not need to hold off of hide inside 340yds. Perfect for yote calling. With that 70gr zero on scope, the 107smk was dead on for windage but was zeroed at 190yds. I just used that as the zero range in shooter, did not have to change knob setting or zero in field. Last time at the range it shot these groups at 100:
I also have a new criterion barrel that I'd like to sell with rifle as a package. Its identical, but in 22-250. 20" varmint contour 5/8-24 muzzle threads. It is a 9 tw will stabilize 77tmk, at minimum, but I had planned on running the 53gr vmax (.291bc@3550-3600fps). Would make for a fairly flat shooting, low TOF round.
Will ship to your ffl, they must accept from individual, paypal f&f or g&s(+3.5%). USPS money order is fine, but I wont ship till I have money order in hand to confirm. 1400 for rifle and 22-250 barrel, shipped and insured.
