Sadly...the woman in this video is now in jail for assault with a deadly weapon, a worse charge than the guy who snatched her purse. Kinda BS imo.
I don't really give two shits about the guy. don't steal other people's stuff. As for her, well it is tough to not break the law while stopping a law breaker. If he had her ID from the purse then she could have been preventing ID theft and/or a worse crime at her home later now that the idiot had her info. So meh, I call it a good stop.
She's on a misdemeanor level charge, he's on two felony B&E/larceny and one misdemeanor damaging property charges, so not really worse there. I hope the judge sees things in a practical manner for her...
Didn't realized they hit him with Felony B&E and larceny, just thought it was misdemeanor larceny and damaging property. Good for them. Still kinda sucks for the lady though. Like you said, hopefully the judge lets her off. I would.

Doubt she will get off scot free, nor do I think she should be let off, I just hope she doesn't see any time behind bars other than what she may have already done. Probation and anger management would be fitting in my mind, I'm sure she can plea her mental state then combined with being five months pregnant for an easy sentence.
Getting a purse snatched and the guy getting away is hardly reason to run someone over anymore than it is to draw down on them and put two in their back from 50 yards, no matter how much I would probably REALLY want to if that were to happen to me. At put least one in the cheek, but I'm hardly that good with my G19 on a distant moving target to call that shot.
If they do charge her, hopefully she has a good lawyer and a Jury of decent people. I'd never convict her.

I think she should be commended . About 28 yrs ago a young man burglarized a shed in Bucks County Pa. . During the incident the homeowner comes out with a shotgun . Guy flees , homeowner chases and ends with scuffle over shotgun and thief dead. . Local DA states in the newspaper that " I cannot think of a better deterent to burglary than a good shooting now and then " .
Wether this guy did by design or opportunity he victimized one of the most vulnerable members of our society . The only way our values and morals change as a society is if we enforce or ignore . This is one case where the apathy of the courts and business as usual needs to be tabled and a message sent . In my not so humble opinion . If the perp don't fuckin like it let him appeal and get drug thru the jagged wreckage of procedural bullshit .

Don't get me wrong, I personally feel what she did is fucking awesome, I absolutely despise thieves and put them right up there with wife beaters and child molesters. A absolutely agree this one is a special case where he preyed on a pregnant woman, fucking despicable and he deserved to get a lot worse than just hit with a bumper. I really hope he hates getting his shit pushed in and it happens regularly while he's in the clink. But...
She's going to get fucked in the eyes of the law. Not only is she going to get a criminal charge and conviction (hopefully it stays minor), but this ass clown is going to probably sue her in civil court where he will fucking win and she will pay, and there are case after case of precedent to show this happens. That alone is cause to think twice about taking this kind of action against a criminal who is getting away with their loot. Once they are clear of causing one imminent danger, all "self defense" goes out the window. In the middle of the snatch she could have drawn down on him and done a mag dump in his face, no charges would be filed, but once he was out of the vicinity, she then joined him in the criminal realm and that is sad. Even LEO couldn't have taken this kind of action against a fleeing perp; no matter how much I and the rest of us here think they should be able to, they can't.
It's fun to live in the hypothetical world of the Bear Pit where we clap for criminals getting fucked up while we wish the victim a long life of reveling in their overcoming with no repercussion, but unfortunately reality is a bit more fucked up than that. Thieves get off with 30 days tops, more often probation or suspended sentences, while those that fuck them up get fucked over afterwards. Reality is a bitch sometimes.
We can only hope her prenatal vitamins were in that bag and she was preventing neural tube defects.
Redmanns I hear you . It just disgust me that the DA and judge are very likely to bust out the procedural slide rule and go with the victim gets fucked . You see DAs and judges use discretion all the time when it comes to coddling a criminal . It is within their ability to look the other way on this one .
All depends on the jurisdiction. What you are saying is probably true in New York or California. I am not familiar with North Carolina's political stance on such issues. It could also vary for city to city. Around here I am sure she would get charged publicly with a misdemeanor but with court scheduling and such I am sure it would quietly be dismissed a few months later. The powers that be have to appear to discourage such actions when people are looking.
If she hadn't have done this, the police would have made about .005% effort to do something about it. BTDT. Now that she hit him, it's a big deal.
