Had a fairly new mini 30 in x39, that patterned, no matter what ammo....wolf or tula to Federal to Hornady... like 4-5" patterns at 50 yards... wasn't even worth trying further out. It was a truly terrible shooting rifle. It was intended to be a less than ideal weather, hunting rifle...it didn't make the cut.

So, I ditched it and picked up a Fightlite SCR lower and assembled a cheap upper in 7.62x39 mostly from parts I had, just needed a barrel and bolt.

Only 50 rounds through it so far, but it is exponentially a better shooting rifle than the mini... after dialing in and shooting a couple groups at 50, I took it out to 100 and managed to hold 20 rounds of crap wolf in a 3.5" group. I'll take it out to 200 & 300 yards for giggles but for me it's intended to be a 50-100 yard rifle, it seems to handle that well.

For fear of offending some...;)

I put a Leupold made, Redfield Revolution 3-9x40 on it... using an Amazon special, monstrum ultra low mount.

To further offend... it's got a 16" SS AR Stoner barrel (I believe it's made by BCA), but $65 delivered...why not?

Gas block is a bushmaster cut down A2, handguard is a UTG pro 7" ultra slim. Upper is an Anderson slickside, bolt is from KAK.

Disclaimer... I am in NY. The AR game sucks, but I've played it quite a few times. Instead of going that featureless route...again, I wanted to try something a little different. The Fightlite SCR fit that bill.

Flame away...

That looks like a fun little setup.

Years ago, I picked up a Saiga Sporter in 223 to convert to an AK style build. It has similar lines as your Fightlite. After shooting it a couple of times, I decided that I liked it the way it came and have left it as-is.

Yeah, I wasn't sure what upper arrangement I wanted to go with. Not a big fan of long handguards that cover most of the barrel. I do like how a 12" HG looks with a 20" barrel, but I've got a couple setups similar to that.

Then I remembered seeing a RRA upper, with a railed gas block and carbine length HG and thought it looked pretty cool. So, I went with that as an inspired look on this one. It's not for everyone, but I kinda like it and it cuts down on the bulk of a long ass handguard.

I had one of those for a little while... liked it a lot actually. My buddy wanted it more than I did, so I sold it to him.

It's a neat setup. The trigger is different but decent... I don't know how to describe it other than it's somewhere between bad two-stage and a rolling single stage (It's not too dissimilar in how it pulls, from my geiselle s3g) if that makes any sort of sense... There's no firm wall before it breaks. I haven't put it on a trigger scale yet, but I would say it's at about 4-4.5 lbs.

I'm working on a 22lr upper for it also. I fit a CMMG bolt using a different 22LR upper, but I'm waiting on a barrel & handguard To finish this 22 upper. I think The barrel is scheduled to be delivered today, But the handguard not till tomorrow or Friday.
