This totally reminds me of a trip my friends and I made to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon a few years back. We had camped at the Tuweep Camp Ground the night before and it had rained a little. It's a 60 mile fairly developed dirt road to get from the canyon rim back to pavement. We're all driving fairly well equipped trucks. I'm, in my FJ, sandwiched between two taco's and we're doing 45-50 to avoid the ruts. You don't see much on coming traffic on these roads, but out of the clear blue comes this little white civic. He happens to meet us at just a point where there is a good sized mud puddle across the road. My buddy in front of me doesn't blink to slow down and hammers through this puddle at full speed. The plow wave was impressive. The hang time on the fountain of chocolate milk coming off of the side of his truck was a good 3 to 4 seconds. Just enough time for me to pull up even with the civic as the shower of muddy mess comes raining down. I swear I couldn't have been any closer as I stared into his horror filled eyes and saw the look of shock on his face just as the tidal wave hit the windshield. I kind of felt bad but I wasn't going to slow down. It probably looked just like this guy.

Ugh.... I do my best to raise my daughter well, to educate her, and believe that what she lives and sees with me on a daily basis will have bearing on how she makes decisions when she is older. She turns 8 next week.....

^^^^^ That, while hilarious, gave me a little chill.
Stay active in what the curriculum is in school is all I can say. That is the major source of the liberal infection. Private schools are the best way to quell most of them but not all.

I can't afford private school in Denver.

I looked in to the Denver Christian School and could do that via scholarships. I prefer it be a Christian school anyways.

Issue is I am divorced and would have to fight in court to have her all the time Mon-Fri as her mother couldn't get her to that school. My ex has her parents drive my daughter to school when she is at her house, as school is right by the grandparent's work.

So, we go to church, do all kinds of activities together all the time, go camping, fishing, shooting. We eat dinner at the table (occasionally with TV on weekends).

Good news is, school she is in is quite different from any other. Pretty conservative. Pledge of Allegiance every day in every class.
One of their key tenets is to educate kids and have them be patriots. School founded in 1972 by folks in the community, probably pissed at the commies based on reading their original charter.
Its a public school, open to all, lottery system only. Ran very differently than most of the schools that I have seen. Focused on actual education, vs how much computer crap can a 2nd or 3rd grader learn.

I could horrify you with stories.

I consider my kids naïve and somewhat less "advanced" than kids of equal age a generation before. Parental reaction to media horror stories has a lot to do with that.

My kids surprise me at times though when they take a position of personal strength and run counter to their indoctrination and the peer pressure they must get on adult topics of the day.

I don't ask them to think as I do but I do ask them to have facts to base their beliefs on.

I challenge them even when they agree with me to prove why they believe something. I don't want them to be cracker eating parrots.

Problem is at their age they lack an understanding of tactics and strategy.

They shouldn't be shrinking violets but it bothers me when they lack candor and they identify themselves as warriors in a battle older people like me should never allowed to happen.
