That's a good dog!I was around a cat like that when I was growing up.
Dog was an old broken down bulldog beagle and basset mix. Her deep chest cleared the ground by about 2", short little stocky legs. In her youth she would sit on the porch wait for a squirrel to come out of a tree, run catch it, have it in her mouth, snap her head once, kill it, drop it and go back and wait for another. You did not raise a hand to us kids when she was around, and that went for everyone. Get mad at us and someone would have to take her out of the room....that is when we knew we are going to get it.
Age was not kind to her, and like all other long dogs her back started to give her fits. The cat being a cat was young and a general ass hole, pushing around the dog, scratch here, scratch there. The dog just let it go. By this time she had so many gaps in her fur from scars she looked like a zebra.
One day the cat went too far, the dog was in real bad shape, could hardly move and we started getting prepped for the "put her down" talk. We all knew the end was coming. So did the cat, and it just wanted to make her days as horrid as possible. The cat finally pissed the dog off to a point it just would not take it anymore, tore the cat in half, as in half in the middle of the living room. Blood everywhere. It had to be like she was a kid again, moving with that same speed. By the time we got there the dog was in her bed, and part of the cat here and the other part there.
I learned a great deal from that dog. We put her down about a month later. She was a very special dog. I will see you again one day.
her name was Mitten, but everyone called her Muh muh. Say it like you are disgusted and you get the name, now that same sound without the disgust.
Great dog.
They may punch above their weight, but they can pick the wrong dog to fuck with. Dog had her nose split in two, and a huge gash on her eye. It did not stop her from ripping that cat apart.
I never had another cat in the house, they are flat ass holes. That cat was just flat being a dick to the dog for no reason at all, the dog went from the food bowl, outside, to her bed and that was it, slept most of the them. Cat would walk by and ambush her in her sleep.
