Corn pisses me off. It grows everywhere but where I want it to. I used to feed the critters in my yard, squirrels would burry it in various places and I'd have corn stalks growing everywhere in the yard.

Many years ago I planted some corn up where I hunt. All by hand turning up a patch of field with a hoe, planting it one kernel at a time. Took forever. Fertilized it, watered it... nothing. Not a damn thing popped. Not long after I'm at work and had to go check out an apartment that was vacant, but someone was moving into. When I got there, I found there was a small plumbing leak and the kitchen floor was wet. And apparently when the previous tenants moved out, some pop corn had been spilled. The damn corn had sprouted and was growing on the VCT kitchen floor! Little 3" tall corn stalks growing on a vinyl floor, but I can't get it to grown in a fertile field in full sunlight.

My sweet corn flooded twice… like under rushing water…. It’s back!!! I actually can’t believe it. Knocked down twice and back up!
