One of our chickens laid a monster of an egg today, 2.85" long. Shown next to what we would consider a large egg. The picture doesn't really do it justice. Feel bad for that chicken.

My Golden Comets (medium size hens) lay extra large eggs mostly but occasionally a monster that will not allow an egg carton to close.

They squawk a bit
