I grew up spending parts of my summers at my aunt’s beach house at Topsail Island. I never gave it a thought to be bobbing up to my neck in the ocean or the sound.
I don’t go in the water at the coast anymore. Gives me the hereby jeebies.
The Cape is going to have a real dilemma to deal with.
On the one hand they tend to be ultra lib climate theologians worshiping mother gaia.
On the other hand they are blood thirsty capitalists intent on ass raping every tourist that comes down there to drain them of any dollar available.
The sharks are a result of protecting the seals. The area is returning to a state of nature.
It will be interesting to see how much affection for seals there is should the sharks put a dent in the dollar harvest.
Its had an impact on my enjoying the water. I still go in but waist deep area only and always with polarized sun glasses on. With the glasses on I can see animals approach from 20 to 30 yards out and get myself and kids out of the water until its determined whats coming along.
This is the beach we usually go to in Wellfleet.....
if they asked me Id willingly take up a spot on the cliff with a .30 caliber and provide overwatch for the swimming crowd.
The ocean is so beautiful and appealing to me I could sit and watch the water with binos all day.....
