This is hardcore. Absolutely zero room for error and he knows it on the way up.

I came home from work today and the wife was watching this cooking show, one team was 2 "guys" in skin tight carhartt pants and plaid shirts. TO BAKE A CAKE! So I started ranting and pissed her off. I would bet 10000 to 1 that between the 2 of them they couldn't even figure out how to start my chainsaw.
Almost made me swear off carhartts too.

Why the hell would you start at the base? Me, start at the top.

Going down that is a brake burner without much high speed fun.
I would prefer a long descent that has good curves but not a lot of switchbacks.
Switchbacks just slow you down and fast steep curves let you hit 65+mph.
Truly eye watering speed.

I did Many Parks Curve descending Trail Ridge Road at 45 mph once.

A rush and scary when I hit a couple bumps about 2/3 way through. Its a big sweeping turn, seems built for that on a bike.

About died on the next big turn. Much tighter corner, didnt slow down enough, bike started to slide a little and crossed into oncoming lane.
God was guarding me that day as the next car was 150 yds out and I had time to correct to my lane vs kissing their front end.

Now I drive a minivan on that road with 3 kids in booster seats!!!

Some of the new snowboarding apps are pretty cool, they can track your speed and your buddies location on the mountain. Problem is then it turns into a high score contest. Last time out I hit 71 on a board at Copper Mtn. and got a little sketched out.
I did a downhill mountain bike at A-Basin and only hit 55, but it felt way faster and more on edge.
