Is it wrong that I look at these beaches and I think “Yeah no problem for a Trak but if it’s an LCVP might have to be careful of broaching if the surf is up”

Many times, I did this exact thing with my family. We would look for a rest stop, but when dad got hungry, we stopped where we were and ate. Coolers full of Kool-aid and bologna sandwiches were the menu items almost exclusively. Of course dad had his thermos full of Sanka instant coffee.

So went to a total gem of a Museum today — the National Cryprographic Museum next to Ft. Meade.

Not only great for a geek like me at all Levels, but I actually got to play with a German Enigma machine. Docent was a rewiring it for a group coming through and let me put my fingers all over it and even send/receive some messages. Totally awesome! So much cool hardware there. From early Cray to Enigmas to some pretty recent hardware.

I know at least a couple of our merry band here jumped into Grenada. @sandwarrior among them, IIRC. Did you guys know you captured this?

Soviet enigma that the Cubans had (stupidly) brought to their base there. Keys to the kingdom!

Bet someone in the 82nd got a nice letter in their personnel jacket that day!

Totally amazing little place not far from Baltimore and DC.

Cheers,

Sirhr

PS it was sunny out, no one glowing in the parking lot… that I could tell. I think most of those guys work out of their parents basements anyway. Oops… I’m on another list…

My ancestors were definitely pricks… sold whiskey and Hors D’oeuvres to the Indians… lots of Loyalists left New Hampshire on rails wearing Tar and Feather tuxedos. Shot a shit ton of Zulus and Boers…. Definitely hated on the Irish.

My family tree is a cactus. Not many branches and loaded with pricks!

We had this little girl at the hunt club chuck house for a while. She'd come to the table when we ate. We fed her two kinds of cat chow plus veggies. Very sweet. Eventually she went back into the wild.

Her exit was folllowed by this little thief for a summer. Steal food off your plate until full, then run up your arm and sleep against the crook of your neck.

Please elaborate on "definitely hated on the Irish"
