FYI MIL/LE can buy 10 Pmags directly from Magpul!

Mine shipped. Thanks again for the post and i think all of the controversy over this is terrible. I am active duty and appreciate companies support mil and LE to help secure the country.

For all the cop and mil haters out there go to oathkeepers.com maybe it will give you some hope.

There is not a LEO or MIL member that needs Pmags direct from magpul to do their jobs. All they do is help add to the personal stash or let them resell them. If they needed them , they would be issued.

My dept doesn't issue jack shit. That goes with duty guns, shotguns, and ARs. Hell we had to supply our own 5.56/223 ammo for the certification course and qualifications up until January 2013. They are now supplying us with qualification ammo. I've been loading up on mags since the sunset so I'm good to go. We have lots of new guys getting on board on the carbine program so yes Magpul is helping out getting them squared away for work.

You're right, nothing like being stuck in AFG with worn out, dented aluminum mags that won't feed more than 8-10 rounds before the springs just don't have any more push in them. But hey, they were issued, right? Not that that's personal experience or anything. I'm sure no LE ever finds themselves in that position, either.

Am I going anywhere in the immediate future? No, but that's why this box is going under my bed until that order drops. Next time around I won't potentially be in that same situation.

Your post proves you have no idea what your talking about. It also shows you did not read the thread, as this has already been addressed. There is not a unit in the military that is deployed, that is not flush with mags, gear and all kinds of new shit they dont even use. Stop making shit up, because others may confuse your babble, as someone who knows what their talking about.

Does LE not get issued sidearms and ammo?

Every unit can get M16's/M14's from DRMO or through ARMY/CRANE if they want them. Your unit can order mags direct. If your PD doesn't deem them as a need for you, they wont issue them. You may not like it, but that's the envelope they want you to operate in. Don't like it..... go work somewhere else.... or get a job where you don't get issued guns and ammo.

It depends on the dept.. Some do, some don't. I work for the 4th largest city's dept and nope. Guns, mags, ammo.. All personal purchases with NO help from the dept.

Also to note, our carbine program believe it or not is voluntary. Not everyone wants to take time to certify themselves. So outfitting the program with rifles and accessories is low priority. Might as well leave it up to the individual officer to figure out.

That's pretty interesting that you've deployed with every unit, to every location in the AOR and know what they have. I mean, that'd be pretty much the only way you'd know that, right? As I said, we were issued magazines. They were effectively ten round magazines at best. Flush with new equipment, indeed.

Do elaborate on how being in the position personally makes it babble and not actually knowing what one is talking about. This time, try to use actual examples instead of a "nanny nanny poo poo" approach.

Who is we? I have been in multiple army units, been around hundreds if not thousands of Army/AF/Navy/Marine/FBI/BORTAC/DEA/CG units and never saw anyone in CENTCOM who did not have good magazines, and an abundance of them, Most units would throw away ones that were older than a year beacuse new units bring new mags plus all the ones ordered and aquired throughout the deployment cycles. I have been a budget analyst/contracting specialist/armorer for the Army, Guard, and various federal agencies. I do something similar with the fed/dod now. I believe I have a fair grasp on both the logistics side and the line unit side as far as equipment goes.

Please tell me what unit you were in, what branch/service/MOS/Location and Time that you were deployed and didn't have magazines that were serviceable.

Alot of urban departments are like that. Baltimore city, one of the most dangerous police depts in the country, only issues g22's.
I would find a better dept to work for. Ones that wont equip its officers with decent gear, probally cuts alot of other corners first.

You know whats funny... You dont have to like that MIL/LE can buy direct from Magpul but you do have to live with it. Stop bitching about it and just lump it. A lot of departments cant afford extra mags for their guys and gals, thats doesnt mean they dont need them or diserve them. Most people dislike LE until they need them and then they cant get there fast enuff for them.

FWIW. Cobracutter has already received his 10 308 Pmags from this deal and is currently trying to sell them right here on the hide for $650!

No your wrong, in NY we aren't exempt from the law.

Sorry, last I read the Sheriffs were "consulted", and one of the points was that they wanted exemption. I guess I expected that the politicians would make it happen. I don't even remember where I read it right now.

I'm trying to recruit all my coworkers to do the same thing....

They could easily sell them for 5-600 and make a quick 400 bucks.

Way to represent the boys in blue. I guess one way to see it is taking advantage of the situation in order to take from those who are patiently waiting in line for mags and selling them for a big profit in order to pad your account. I somehow don't think that is what Magpul was thinking though.

We're supposed to be the honest, good people of society, not the ones who take advantage of the system and shit all over people who are trying to support us. Real class act Cobracutter. You should be ashamed of yourself. Your ass should get banned off of principal alone.

No need to tell everyone else what they should or shouldn't have. I use my own mags instead of the 20+ year old usgi mags that are beat to shit since our unit doesn't think mags are a priority. So unless you have been an operator in every unit and every command, or have walked a beat for every civilian PD in the US your argument is nonsense.

Magpul is a great company founded by a fellow warfighter, who may have experienced issues with acquiring good gear in the field.
So now the company is doing us a solid. During times like these where people are gouging and trying to make a buck it sickens me to see anyone pay more than MSRP for an item and you obviously are not helping the situation or anyone by posting this way.

You imply that you served, good for you. If you still are thanks but if you're retired or just got out for whatever reason leave it to those currently serving in the US and abroad to decide if they want some mags or not.

That's the truth.

Cobracutter, looking over both this post and the other where you have the Mags for sale I'm just wondering how you got them because you state below "I do something similar with the fed/dod now." does that mean you are Civil Service/Reserve or still Active Military? DLA/DCMC? QAR?

The largest PD in America does not issue handguns to its officers. They must purchase the handgun, mags, holster, belt, and so on. 30k officer dept...

DRMO Can take years to get firearms.

I can not whole heartedly agree with the good "for magpul" comments.
1st let me say that i greatly appreciate the work done by LE/MIL personnel.
2nd acknowledging #1 the next comments are purely philosophical.

The magazine crisis stems directly from actions of the nations law makers ie the bosses of the LE. I'm talking the L in LE.
I know that in actuality the LE officers on the streets are just the messengers, but your bosses are out of line, and thus you should be in the back of the line.

MIL serving outside of US soil front of the line.

MIL serving inside us boundaries back of the line.

More typical anti cop hate. We are not responsible for the laws that are being passed in some states. You can thank the politicians and the voters for that. Trying to punish cops who need gear to do their job safely is retarded. Magpul is a stand up company.

Your post proves you know next to nothing about LEO departments and policies. They vary widley. Some departments issue guns and gear and you must only use what is issued. Some you must buy it yourself as an officer from an approved list and some are a mixture of both.

please lowlight or other ban cobracutter, read this thread and tell me he isnt the scum that is destroying our country. there is a special place in hell for cobracutter hell be blowing hitler soon.

Not normally aniti cop, actually a life long backer of the cops (at least since I got my hair cut in basic), but lately I am thinking who the hell will be the ones coming to confiscate my stuff if they pass an unconstitutional law and we spiral down hill towards a bad place. The only conclusion I land on every time I game it is the cops, local PD, unfortunately I am not an automatic backer of LEO's anymore, I don't dislike them but I cant trust them anymore, potential future enemy of the people (Constitution) unfortunately. Sad times we find ourselves in gents. Magpul should make the government last on the list same with ammo and gun makers.

Very ignorant statement. I understand how and why you are thinking the way you are but you are putting the cart way before the horse. I honestly don't believe it will happen, granted that doesn't mean it can't. Im telling you right now, they would have to use the military to enforce and seize weapons. There would be too much bloodshed and most police wouldn't do it anyway. Some people on here will say that most police say that but if it came down to it they would still do it because they have mouths to feed too. Most people that say that though aren't cops and will never understand the true cops mentality. Most cops really respect the badge and the law, they also try to do what's right. An illegal seizure is wrong and most cops would not stand for that because it breaks the code they live by, they have nothing to fall back on or believe in if their beliefs are broken so that's why I think most wouldn't do it. That's just one cops opinion.

That's the only thing we as a group can do is prepare for the unknown. I didn't mean the ignorant part in a bad way or mean to put you down. That was just my feelings on your initial statement. I'm sure it was meant a little different, even if it wasn't everyone is entitled to their opinion. Thank you for your service and I'll do my best to serve you here on the Homefront.

We are not responsible for the laws that are being passed in some states.

C'mon, it's not that simple. Cops are just like any large enough group of people; political opinions will vary. So while maybe many police organizations and individual officers are not supportive of anti-gun laws, from where I am standing it certainly looks to me like many also are supportive.

Barrett suspended sales to LAPD specifically because LAPD was officially supportive of the .50 cal ban, stating it was a threat even though there were no instances of .50cal crime and the mere idea of robbing a store with a 25 pound, 4-foot long, $6000 rifle is laughable.

When I go to my State Capitol to protest anti-gun laws during public committee meetings, the police are often there in uniform testifying in front of the committee for the anti-gun side. Having a uniformed police officer testify before the committee on an issue carries a LOT of weight. However, true to my point (that political opinions vary), the uniformed police officer that was testifying for an anti-gun law was asked if that was also his personal opinion and he said it was not.

Magpul is a great company and can sell to anyone they like; it's their business.
