G9 offers a 145gr solid copper round in 10mm moving at 1450fps and claims their unique drill bit design creates cavitation that greatly increases penetration and wider wound channels. I've watched their videos but remain skeptical. I am considering this round in a sidearm for backcountry bow traditional hunts for defense from razorback boar and bear charges. My sidearm is a Glock 40 which is why I don't wanna shoot lead hard cast ammo out of it. Is G9 a solid choice or is there something better for this application? I also have a S&W 329PD for grizzly country but it's a bitch to shoot straight being so light so I am hoping to improve my accuracy with the 10mm and failing that, have more rounds to throw downrange.

I found this article awhile back, and they do some testing on meat. But if you need hardcast, why not drop in a KKM barrel?

Not a bad suggestion, I was gonna get a Match Combat barrel from L2D but they don't make one for this gun. Hadn't considered KKM but just bought one. 60 day wait. (((((sigh)))))
