What separates one brake from another? Is it mainly the "look" you are seeking or does one function better than others? Your feedback is appreciated.

I have the Titan break on mine and there is no recoil to mention. I will say it is loud though (all breaks are). I was using it for deer season and after firing a few times it really hurt my left ear.
I will probably order a thread protector for it and put that on for hunting season next year.

Re: GA Precision GAP-10

Is it possible to order just a complete upper receiver? I have a POF lower that has been sitting for a long time. I was planning to just finish it with a POF upper, but I wouldn't mind having a GAP 10 upper.

Re: GA Precision GAP-10

Follow up question regarding muzzle brake. I'm assuming they are threaded on. Is there a special tool required to install/remove brake from barrel? How is tightened and removed without scratching the finish. I know it's a gun but still like to take care of my stuff!

Thanks, David M

Depending on the brake you have (I have a surefire) No special tool required but you'll need something to hold the barrel that wont scratch. I use channel locks with jaw protectors. The brake comes with different sized shims to index it properly and threadlocker. I didn't use the threadlocker because I wanted to be able to remove it easily and it hasn't budged in approx 2k rounds. However I don't advocate deviating from their procedures...if I mount a can I'll use the threadlocker. The brake came with mounting instructions.

If you order it with the brake I believe they deliver them installed. I asked them to ship mine loose with thread protectors installed in case I shoot in a match that doesn't allow brakes.

On par with what I was quoted and experienced.

Best things come to those who wait.

Re: GA Precision GAP-10

I'm fine with 4 mos. I'm in the aftermarket automotive industry and 2 mos often is 8+. I would be good with 8 mos if I was told 7, as long as delivery time is close. Now I jus have to make a final decision on caliber.

POF-USA has a pdf file that shows the differences with 168smk...

the gap will be very very close in differences between barrel legnths

Re: GA Precision GAP-10

Thanks, but it's an odd test as they have a 14.5 a 16 and a 24" and there's only velocity data for the 14.5 and 16 unless I'm looking at the wrong PDF.

Just a note, I have the collapsable UBR on one carbine lower, and the adjusting PRS on a rifle length one, and I never need the cheek riser raised. The 50mm Vortex Razor sits low enough that even the UBR gives a great cheek weld, and it is much lighter.

That is my exact setup that I am running now. I am really happy with it.

Nope, that's just me and some Rustoleum.</div></div>

Damn Mike, it looks great. Every time i try and convince myself to do a finish on my own i see myself messing up on one part and can't bring myself to do it.

"...working out well..." George is an understatement. Mine is awesome! Thanks for the service. Top notch workmanship and accuracy! I am considering another upper set up to run a can. Just need to figure out how to tell the wife I need to spend more money.

Way "Pure bad-assery." I don't have the confidence in doing that to mine. I did have it done in FDE to hopefully do something like that. Nice job!

+1...This is my First Ar-10, and well its a whole other ball game getting behind the pedals of one of these... I learned that very quickly. It will expose the fundamentals of marksmanship you are not following true. When i first started shooting my new Gap-10 i could barley manage 1 inch groups.. and i started to think something was wrong... Well something was wrong..it was me.. Since i have discovered my faults and learning more on how to drive this rifle... here is the norm 5 shot groups...I reload my own, and have yet started working up a load specific for this rifle.. these are just some generic recipes that are actually working for me.

This is just one of the Awesome groups this gun has shot for me while punching paper today at 100. And no matter what ammo i run in it.. it will produce very similar results.. I don't shoot competitions , just steel and paper at distance but to say I'm happy with this rifle is an understatement... She's a freaking Hammer! Thank you G.A.Precision!
