Wasn't sure where to post this, but since I have no experience with gain twist barrels I figured this might be a stupid question. Would the .224 Valkyrie benefit from this type of rifling? Some google searching lead me to youtube video of a gunsmith working with Bartlein to develop a 20" service rifle barrel that starts at 1:13" and transitions to 1:6.5". In the video he claims they were able to relieve pressure while still stabilizing the heavier projectiles. Given the issues with blown primers and and the accuracy issues with 90gr SMKs, would this be a potential solution?

this also helps with service rifle as they shoot lightweights at shorter ranges (offhand and sitting)

that may be a bit drastic of a gain twist for a valk. maybe a 7.5-6.5 would make more sense here

not sure there are enough out there yet to have guys switching to gain twists with enough data to support any claims one way or another

I would love this, I have just mailed bartlein about a 14-6 twist for a 22-250 AI to shoot 55gr and 88gr bullets. I'll send through any info I get back from them. I am sure it would apply to the valkyrie
