GAP 10... Range Report ... Updated with 200-1000yd

Today was break in and 100yds only... 50 rounds... no malf of any kind.

Fired shoulder length was 1.629 ... brass is getting a gouge on the neck from a lug or the feed ramp, going to have to figure out which one it is smooth it out ...

Running a SemiAuto is a completely different animal ... much more difficult to stay accurate ... the 3.5lb trigger is killing me lol feels like the safety is on ! But once i get this down, the bolt gun wont be a second thought.

Dont think I had enough neck tension... was getting fliers probably from the bullets moving in the case or during feeding...( or just my shitty shooting ) was using .0015 - .002 tension from my bolt gun ammo.

43.0 and 43.5 shot ok ... about .5-1moa

44.0
Usually get 2 touching then a flyer ... I had to be as perfect as possible to pull these 3 off ...

Ill update tomorrow after the range with 200-1k data ... and more neck tension cartidges.

What bullet are you running and did you get any velocity readings?

Try 42.5-43.5 gns of RE15 with a 175 SMK. I shot them at an average of 2565 fps for 10 shot string. This is with an 18.5" barrel.

I agree, it takes a lot more focus on mechanics to shoot tiny groups if you are not used to the recoil impulse of this platform. I feel like I am improving slowly.

It takes time behind a semi to get used to the recoil impulses. I am still shooting mine 100 rounds a day after work, I still feel like a novice. I sent mine back to GAP for the Surefire brake, will see if it alleviates my suppressor issues. Other then that it functions perfectly and is a joy to shoot out to 800 yards so far.

Started out with 12 rounds left over from yesterday's 100yd break in / zero session ...

1x Fired Lapua Brass ( from my bolt gun ), 175smk, 44gn Varget, FL Rezise, Shoulder Length 1.623~, Trim Length ~2.005, Seating Depth 2.200 to OGives, with .0015-.002 neck tension... .336 bushing...

Completely clean / decoppered barrel...

First 7 rounds Upper Left
Last 5 rounds Upper Right

So I wanted to try some rounds with a .334 bushing (.0035-.004) tensions... everything else the same.

First group (Lower Right), First two shots are bottom pair, ok cool, about an inch from center ... come up .3mil (1.08in) 3rd shot High... ok come back down .2 ... 4th shot High left...

Hmm wtf over im thinking... ok...

So i grab 3 more rounds (with the .334 bushing) out of the box of 50 I have ready for the 1k range today...

So I bang 3 out and that is the group (lower left)... ok well im thinking shit 1k is gonna suck today, but wtf lets roll with what I have...

So go out to the 1k range start at 200yrd ... here is my target...

Full Target

CBS 10 ring at 1 oclock make some adjustments ... shot alright... blew the 300yd 2nd shot spotter out with my 3rd shot.

can see the rest of the impacts marked with yardage and shot numbers... went semiauto crazy at 1k ... might have made the pit puller mad

had 5 round group just left of the target probably about 1 MOA... damn that wind...

First 1k shot was at pasty at the bottom of the target... that was a 10.8 mil shot... corrected up .7 i think and ended in the head... settled in on 11mils and had a really decent waterline at 1k, lots of impacts on target... except that rapid fire group just left of target... dont judge !

Stayed Super Sonic to 1k ( DA was 1800 by noon, temp mid 70s )

rifle shoots ... and once i get the load dialed in ... im gonna bring some hate on target!

500 - 2.9
600 - 4.1

3.25in scope height
puts me at about 2600fps per the ballistics calc

Give the XBR powder a try. It cut my group size in half on my POF 308. I was amazed.

Also give the 155smk's 2156 palma a try, they shot very good with low recoil.

Nice rifle and shooting by the way.......

Just curious as my 6.5CM takes 1.3 mil from a 100yd zero to 300yds with a 139gr pill running ~2750.

yeah its correct ... my scope height is what is giving the odd close in numbers...
