I have a GAP Hospitaller on the way from another Hide member

I am partial to Jewell, so will be swapping the trigger.
and would like to bed a rail for a bipod while apart

I did a search and didnt find anything.
Does anyone know the torque of the action screws? and if there is an order or different procedure for re-assembly?

Thanks so much. I will post pics once its all put back together

The Hospitaller is a Defiance Deviant built to Gap's specs. It would depend on the stock your placing it in. Manners with mini chassis recommends 55 in-lbs. In a bedded Mc Millan they call for 45 in-lbs. MPA says 65 in-lbs. Chad from LRI who built my 6.5 CM on a Deviant recommended 40 in-lbs on the front action screw and hand tight on the rear. He said something about torquing the rear fastner down too tight causes the action to slightly bend. Anything above 40 in-lbs is plenty. Anything above 55 in-lbs is unnecessary and may cause the fastener to "hourglass."

Is the bottom metal permanent (came with the stock) or was it inletted for something like Badger M5, CDI?

If you had to purchase the bottom metal separate and install yourself, its not a mini chassis.

Here's an idea: learn what your rifle likes.

You were given a good starting point: 40 - 45 in-lbf. Start there and test shoot while stepping up to the torque to 55 - 60 in-lbf and pick the torque that gives the best groups. If all the groups look about the same, pick 55 and move on.
