Alright, it's apparent that he has George's attention, let it die and let the two parties work it out. No need to pile on the OP, no one but he and someone at GAP knows what did and didn't happen.

Looking at the OPs posts over the last few months it appears that he was pretty excited to get said rifle in hand and has consulted with a few people to try and remedy the issue. No doubt that the delivery sucked but there's no reason to add fuel to anybody's fire at this point.

George has his good reputation by making things right so let's all just let this run its course and get worked out between the two parties. I'm sure neither the OP or George need us internet snipers to back them up, they can handle it like men in the morning.

If his claim was valid I have no problem. But what tweaks me is when someone calls out a respected member of this site and lies about the problem hes having with his rifle. I thought something was up when it said he was now shooting 6"-7" groups

I did get this same exact post as a PM and I replied that we would need to see the rifle to figure out what's going on, it's actully harder to make one shoot 7" than 1/2 so there is somthing really wrong like scope/mounts/ etc at any rate if this is for real it will be taken care of.

wow 6-7" inches that is literally unbelievable, wtf did they drill out the rifling all together. thats worse than my fucking smooth bore shotgun with slugs possibly.

I feel your pain if the rifle really does shoot that bad i would bet they will at least get it shooting the 1.5-2" it was. However don't be suprised if they get it test fire it and get it to shoot much better. if this is the case i would bet the bill will be steep.

I also have to forewarn you that you probably just black listed yourself from having any smith on the hide from working on your rifle because you are appearing to be a pain in the ass. If it truly is this bad i feel sorry for you and good luck.

Sorry if I missed that question. I would say sure if you can get the same performance for less. They would true the action etc anyway to install an aftermarket barrel correct?

I would be apt to agree that this is looking more and more like BS considering the original post about getting a nice new toy without any pics and that George is stating that he's contradicting the OP with no reply from the OP. I PM'ed the OP and suggested he may have been mistaken that he went about handling this in the best manner, I received two prompt replies from him and then, nothing so we shall see. Just a though, but try screwing the brake off and see if your original accuracy comes back. Also I would not have recommended blueprinting the action unless a match barrel was installed with oversized threads to match the trued up receiver threads. It takes an awful bad barrel to shoot 6-7 inches, although Remington is very well known to have crooked chambers that will limit your accuracy to 1 inch, this will not cause six inch groups. It would take a pretty large bore diameter variance to cause six inch groups. A couple other things to check would be if the front action screw sticking up inside the receiver is hitting the bottom locking lug pushing it up when in the locked position....also, wiggle the barrel around to see if it is loose, maybe it didn't get torqued on properly.

Only turning the barrel one thread wrap and chambering with a match chamber won't necessarily give you a full match chamber and may put a step in the neck .062 from the end of the chamber neck....

Just because the scope was good before I still would not overlook it, if you have another scope to try on it I would recommend this.

What scope are you useing?

Double check all your base screws and rings screws to insure proper tension.

Did GAP tell you what part of your barrel was bad? Did they notify you as soon as they knew the barrel was bad? I find it odd they would just say the barrel is bad.

Hope you get things figured out. If it is anything GAP did I'm sure they will stand behind it.

I don't have a dog in the fight but George Gardner and GAP have an excellent reputation earned by a factual, documented history of producing some of the finest tactical rifles available. This is why he has a large amount of credibility with his statements.

Where as you and CajunShooter have next to zero demonstrated credibility and could easily be two 12 year olds jerking each other off in your moms basement for all we know.

So this really isn't about whether or not GAP produced a 7moa rifle, it is really about whether or not CajunShooter has ever contacted GAP at all.

You know this site was a huge resource for me when I started down the path to buy my first acuraized rifle. I got some really great advice and answers both on the site through pm and the shout box But I dont know.... seems like it is getting ready to jump the shark.

This guys posts, start by asking a number of questions about this and that, so he obviously has little or no experience with rifles... and thats fine we all start somewhere...

Then a few days ago he starts talking about problems with a rifle... not grouping, and starts calling around asking people why..

now i doubt that someone at GAP just said the barell is the issue, and i really doubt it happened twice, I think GAP would have simply said first time round... send it back it we will look at it, done!

But if GAP did say its the bbl click, then thats not really great of them.. but again, thats soo unlikely, and also... this dude would have emailed gap and there would be a record of it.

So.. anyway.. he starts compalining about a rifle not grouping a few days ago.. gets some fix, then flames out GAP lol.

7 MOA, dude come on, I, unlike everyone else on this site that was a sniper, or special ops, cia, kgb whatever, am a simple basically trained marine, and part time hillbilly, and I know that its obviosly an optic problem. the only way you get 7 moa at 100 yards ( without trying) is if the optics are wacked, not put on right, rings something, or the bbl is moving.

And now... again, in a thread yesterday or the day before he raves about this company that gave him the fix, but didnt say what it was, and he is now absent from this thread.

This is 100 percent user error, and I am not only talking about cajunshooter... but also the doctor that succsefully delivered him into this world.

I don't even believe its possible to make a 1.5-2.0 MOA rifle shoot 6-7 MOA. I was shooting my TRG 22 out to 1000 yards and my scope was loose. At a 1000 yards I was only a mil off of the target and that was with wind. My scope was really loose, it could be moved with 1 finger. CKA can back me up on that.

As far as using the factory bbl; I have done this too with a Remington XCR. I didn't have the money at the time to replace the bbl. I went to Bolsa Gunsmithing and they change a rifle that shot 1.5-2.0 MOA to a consistent .5 MOA rifle, so I have no doubt that GAP can do the same thing.

This is BS and everyone knows it. This will not hurt GAP in any way. I don't have any GAP rifles. I have seen them and seen them shoot; there's no way this story is true. It probably has more to do with the $300 Weaver scope you put on it. You would have been better off putting less money into a rifle and more into a scope.

I don't have any GAP rifles. I have seen them and seen them shoot; there's no way this story is true. It probably has more to do with the $300 Weaver scope you put on it. You would have been better off putting less money into a rifle and more into a scope.

If anything I would think it would help. I know if I were on the fence about GAP, seeing 3 pages of respected members sticking up for George and co. is pretty damn reassuring.

That's a real good point. Guy comes on here and says he has a problem with GAP, and EVERYONE chimes in to essentially say, "Shut up, you do not!"

I'd say that speaks volumes for George & company.

Considering I have known George for many years and he has said in this post that neither he or anyone else at GAP had fielded a call from the poster I call BS. GAP builds great rifles and if there is a problem they take care of it but I don't think I could even make a rifle shoot 6-7 MOA and I am pretty much the most mechanically declined person you would meet.

Never seen or heard of a GAP rifle shooting that bad. I shot the AZ TPRC this past weekend and in the rain, during the stress of a match I shot this 5 shot group with my GAP .243. About 1/4 MOA.

HEY, First of all, I claim no responsibility nor acceptance that this "Coonasse" either lives or exists in South Louisiana. We don't have 7moa rifles down here. We have 7 to 10moa shooters for sho!!

And further more, the existence of GAP rifles in this area are extremely plentiful. And owning many of them are very good shooters, which none of in my experience can consistently shoot their GAP rifles as capably as the rifle will perform.

Therefore you have my word that if I ever come across OP, I will see to it that he is forever exiled from the "Kingdom of Swamps" eternally!!

That being said, you had better check out any new neighbors as the "exiled" may find solace in your back yard!!

Lol this thread is complete fail. Seriously 7 MOA you would have to try to shoot that bad. I already have 2 GAP guns one Hospitaller and one Armalite AR-10 neither one shoots less than a 1/2 at 100yrds or even 600 yards to be frank. And having a .338 Lapua Built right now.

And really how can you be that cheap not to spend another 315 dollars and get a new barrel. Instead of setting the factory barrel back.
