Garmin just replaced my unit because Spin Drift would not account for a left twist barrel. Everyone including Doc from AB figured it was a glitch in the device. So Garmin replaced it.
I got the new unit this week. And it likewise only calculates SpinDrift as though the barrel is right-twist no matter your setting. I determined this before I did any firmware updates.
After that I flashed the update from AppliedBallistics and that did not fix the issue.
Then, lastly, I applied all the updates from Garmin Express, and likewise that did not change the SpinDrift issue.
I wonder if some of you who have the unit can check if yours will calculate SD correctly when you change the twist from RT to LT. On the Garmin that means using a negative value for the twist rate.
Suprisingly AJ does account for the setting and yield a solution based on LT or RT setting; whereas, SD only sees LT.
So, for instance, if you change your winds to 0 and set range to 1000 you should get something like .2L for RT and .2R for LT.
