Hey guys
I have been using Precision Rifle Solutions gear since they're beginings, and my Platoon and I used them in combat in Iraq in 2004-'05.

I will let the video speak for itself, but if you have any questions on the specs, colors, and uses, please contact Precision Rifle Solutions at www.precisionriflesolutions.com or call them at 281 541-1549 and ask for Daniel or Sharon. You won't find better people to take care of you and super fast shipping.

Re: Gear Review: PRS tripods, cradles, and accessories

I love my PRS tripod. I've had it for a couple years now and not had a single problem. I've used it for supporting rifles, chronographs, 2x4's on the miter box, a dead man to hold up cabinets and stuff. Comes in pretty handy and is flat out TOUGH.

Re: Gear Review: PRS tripods, cradles, and accessories

Thank you sir. I have a prs tripod and cradle on my future buy list.

Quick Question. SSP1 or SSP2 for my rem 5r with fatory HS Precision stock?

Re: Gear Review: PRS tripods, cradles, and accessories

I concur. I use Danel's tripod (works great!), and about to put my Bushnell Fusion LRF bino on his tripod adapter (arrived a couple of days ago - well-made).

P.S. Hogstooth, thanks for showing me that PRS tripod back then - I wouldn't know what to look for otherwise.

P.P.S. The video works just fine!

The video works fine and I appreciate you taking the time to put it all together.

Smaddox,

As far as size the SSP-1 should fit the HS Precision stock if it the same as the one I had on my Remington PSS. Shoot me an email to [email protected] and I will send you some additional comparison pictures if you would like. I also have a Microsoft Word document that has profile templates of the SSP-1 and SSP-2 that should print true to scale and allow you to cut them out and compare them against your stock.

Here is a picture of a McMillan A5 trying to fit in a SSP-1, this is part of the reason we build the SSP-2

I do not have a good picture of a McMillan A5 or Manners T2 or T4 wide fore end in a SSP-2 so if someone has that set up could you please send me a picture from the same perspective as the two previous pictures.

Don't hesitate to email, PM, or give us a call with any questions you may have.

If you want to send me a tripod with a SSP-2 I'd gladly provide you with some pictures of my Manners T-4 in it. lol

I know this thread is a bit old but I was wondering what height tripod is best for all around general use, the large or medium?

Looks like the large can go about 20" taller, but the medium is 5" shorter when collapsed. I was thinking the medium would suffice for most all situations but the large one would be good for standing (I'm 5"6-7"); however, I don't know how often I would need to use it standing unless I use it for a spotter in the future.

I never use my tripods for shooting while I'm standing. For me, Danel's Medium tripod with the SSP-2 is the cat's meow for 99% of the time as it is incredibly light, packs up into a very small package that you can easily stow away just about anywhere in a pack or range bag, will allow you to ground it for about as low as you can get on a rifle to the ground, and will more than adequately give you both sitting and kneeling capability (and then some).

I have a Manfrotto 055XPROB for heavy-weight tripod duty for my spotter and for which I can easily thread my PRS tripod cradles onto a different QD plate and use with my grip head if I REALLY get the urge or otherwise find a need for a standing tripod shooting rest...but still...for 99% of the time, Danel's medium tripod is the way to go in my experience.

I can get you a manners T5 pic in both cradles. I have both and use both, usually for just a rifle each but for my T5 I carry both large for the front end and I can remove my mag and put in the smaller cradle and balance real nice, when I ordered from you I ordered large tripod but received med. I'm actually glad it was the med as it really should have been my order all along. Don't take it the wrong way, if I would have had a problem with it I would have called. I am completely satisfied. Danel and his wife went out of their way to get it shipped to me fast. If I needed something else I would not hesitate to buy from them again. ALSO, support the made in USA people like this. Great job Danel

FYI I shoot my small cradle at the mag well and it fits it nice, the large cradle for the front part and it rides nice. Also, the small cradle is the only way I mount my Lupy spotter now. It fits perfect and I don't worry about clamping it in its own piece. When I remove the spotter I'm already set up for my shot. I usually go out by myself and this is a must have for my pack. THe tripod I use for my vectronix LRF, lupy spotter, and rifle rest. I shoot from bipods when prone so I leave the bottom length tube on it and use from high prone to low standing. BUy with confidence.

Danel, I can get you a close up of a manners T2. Will try to email it to you by the end of the week. Guys also check out thier new stuff, Quick release plaates, Pack pad attachment that allows you to use your cradles to shoot off your ruck also. All kinds of top of the line gear. Brock

I dont usually do much commenting on here, but i have to chine in on this. I along with my whole sniper section bough this tripod a year ago for our deployment to Afghanistan. We recently returned and all of them are still together and function great. Believe me when i tell you that these tripods are worth there weight in gold. They are sturdy and very capable of reaching out and touching someone. Thanks for a great product at a great price. Not sure if they can do it or not still but they should be able to give you a military discount if eligible. Thanks again for a great product.

First off, Thank you for your service. Second, Thank you for sharing your experience and comments on the toughness. What size of the tripods did you guys use over there?

i just bought a cradle, and a qr plate and daniel recommended the large HD mil spec tripod. i originall started with the medieum tripod and found it to be too flimsy for my taste...daniel exchanged it to the HD one without any issues whatsover. this whole set up is very beefy and heavy duty. im very impressed with daniel and his company as they really took care of me and the tripod and equipment he sold were shipped quick, packed well and seems to be excellent quality. id buy from him again without thinking about it...

+1 for PRS. I have the SSP-2 and a large tripod. Works very well. Here is how a KMW Sentinel Stock sits in the SSP-2 bumped to one side to demonstrate how much space is left.

Had mine for about 10 months and it has seen two LEO sniper schools and countless trips to the field and deployments and has become one of my most important pieces of kit. My PRS and a set of shooting sticks make any position as stable as the prone and the quality is just outstanding.
