In lieu of a raise this year, my employer decided to opt for credit/debt gift cards. With having a limited time frame to use these cards before it's value is slowly stolen through service fees, I need to use them toward gear/accessories/ancillary items one might need while developing their precision shooting skills and knowledge base as a beginner. The core gear (rifle, glass, rings, rails, bipod) is already taken care of. I'm interested in support accessories, though I cringe when using the word "accessories" in this context. I won't be shopping for slings that really bring out the color of my eyes nor are there plans to Bedazzle my rifle. I just want to know what piece(s) of gear do you all personally find invaluable after gaining experience. Maybe something that you never realized when starting out was as important as it turned out to be. Obvious or not, something you couldn't live without.
THE CATCH
l have one card for $100 and another for $50. Each has its own card number and can't be used in a split-tender scenario. I could also deposit both into my Amazon account and put $150 toward a purchase(s).
I haven't been overly concerned about ancillary gear since I'm just starting out. I've only focused on selecting the appropriate rifle, glass, fittings and making sure I could responsibly afford quality choices. Having squared that away, I need to use these cards while I can. I've been reloading for a while now and though my equipment doesn't sport the newest bell or whistle, I have dipped my toes into precision reloading with a small sample of satisfying results. I know there are some precision specific reloading tools that I don't have so I'm also open to suggestions on that front, as well. The tools I have are of the 'basic & manual' persuasion. An entry level set up that has been refined through countless hours at the bench.
I'm always being told that I take forever to get to the point, so I'm trying not to be too long winded in this post. If I've left out any info that's needed, I apologize. Just ask and I'll fill in the holes. I really do want to say thanks for any input that might be given. I never get tired of the opportunity to learn something I didn't know before. Thanks!
Also, I know this isn't exactly a new ground breaking request but given the limitations of the gift cards, I though it might churn up an interesting idea or at the very least shed light on something I hadn't considered. Admins....I leave the fate of this post in your hands.
