Geissele DMR Adjustment

Re: Geissele DMR Adjustment

...oh, and I did adjust the second stage as well, both weight and engagement via the adjustment screws. If you're not adjusting the DMR trigger upon installation, you're probably not getting the most out of it. The SSA-E is a fine trigger if you want a drop-in solution.

Re: Geissele DMR Adjustment

Not trying to be an ass or anything,
This is what Geissele has to say in the INSTRUCTIONS FOR DMR

<span style="font-style: italic">"Every GA Hi-Speed trigger is factory pre-set for sear engagement in a
precision fixture designed to simulate an AR15 receiver. This does not
mean that the trigger adjustment procedure can be skipped. Factory
pre-setting the sear is only intended to assist the gunsmith by making
the adjustment process easier. The advantage of an adjustable trigger is
that small receiver dimensional variations from nominal can be accounted
for so that each trigger can be individually tuned to each unique receiver."</span>

I wanted the DMR, but went with the SSA-E and love it.

Re: Geissele DMR Adjustment

I installed then checked how it felt. Measured the pull weights then adjusted from there. I spent more time on sear engagement than anything else to get it to break just right. The directions seem insanely difficult at first glance, but are clearly written and as precise as the trigger. Settled on 2.5lb first and ~1.2lb second.

Re: Geissele DMR Adjustment

I just switched from a Jewell to the Geissele DMR. The DMR is flat out better and easier to adjust. The first stage came in at 2.75lbs with out bending the spring. I set the second stage to brake at 3.5 lbs. I have zero creep and a little over-travel dialed in. The adjustments are close from the factory but you still must adjust it to your receiver. Also it is very important that once you put the supplied trigger and hammer pins in, that you go back and recheck the sear setting. Mine changed enough to be noticeable and required a small adjustment. Follow the directions and you cant go wrong.
