Ive got a gem tech hvt 762 can, and on both my gap crusader and surgeon 6.5 they shoot 3/8 all day long and as soon as i put that can on them they open up to 2in group guns, should i get rid of this can and start up another 7 month wait on a surefire can? keep it for a semi auto rifle?

I had the same issue with my HVT (SS) and sent it back to Gemtech. Their CS department shot it with some old linked 147 ball and said it was good to go but, I disagreed. They converted it to a direct thread and returned it to me. If it's the Ti version convert it, if SS move it and get a direct thread Ti version. Lesson learned. I'll never purchase another QD Gemtech anything. My direct thread Ti Sandstorm has been 100%.

this is a thread on hvt SS. i did send it back and they said everything was fine. and every rifle I've ever put it on have went from great groups to just horrible accuracy. so i guess ill move it and get a surefire can.

Sorry, I assumed QD since mine was QD. Even after the mod, mine still isn't what my Ti suppressor is in the way of accuracy. I'll probably end up donating my HVT to a local SO at some point. If you reload run a ladder with a new load, less powder by .5 or so. My 260 takes 42.5 grains suppressed and 43 un-suppressed to gain the same level of accuracy. The 30P1 Thunder Beast is probably one of the best cans out there, may be worth looking at.
