Woww... Let's back up a little. I know Ayan, and he is very active on AR15.com. He has another job, a more traditional job, and he is backing off his boltcarrier.com business for now. I know a lot of people for whom he has helped, and he is a true expert in the SR25 / KAC community, including clone/replica builds for Mk11 Mod 0 and M110.
He is very credible, trustworthy and skilled. Like many gunsmith types, he can be very non-communicative and slow. I have learned to deal with great craftsmen in the sailboat field for years, as well as guns. For whatever reason, these guys are a different breed. To you and me, a day means 24 hours, and a week means 7 days. Great craftsmen, for whatever reason -- maybe they get caught-up in their work -- a day means a week, and a week is a month. God forbid, don't ask what "a few months" means... A lifetime ??
Anyway, Ayan is golden, and perhaps he has a wife that is making him do more work and less passion, maybe he has health issues, I don't know his personal business. He is not totally out of the business, but from what I have seen him say, it looks like he is taking a pause on new work, and struggling to get some work-in-progress out the door. Maybe he will return to be more active, perhaps he will not, but his intentions are genuine.
That said, OP, I am very active in this small community of KAC and M110 folks (it is a very small world). I know most of the people who work on KAC products, sell KAC products, build barrels, you name it. Let me know where you need help or a referral.
