Getting back into liffting

So I graduate in May from college. In the last two years I have been swamped with school work and thus became lazy and put on about 30 lbs. I have decided to shed my winter coat and started lifting. I am super motivated but running into a few possible issues. First ill say this is not my first time lifting. I used to lift regularly until I got into my nursing program.

So the weight program I am following requires I do 1-2 warm up sets then 3-4 working sets to failure. What I am noticing is that the closer I get to completing the working reps for a given set my form starts to go out the window. So this is my question and it seems pretty straightforward. I should focus on form at lower weights and higher reps making sure I really contract the targeted muscle as opposed to getting semi-sloppy with heavier weight. No brainer right?
 
Never ever sacrifice form for weight. Yes, back off on your weight and keep your form solid and increase reps to failure. You are probably comparing your old weight you used to do for a given lift. Can't do that, back off 20 to 30 percent and work your way back up to the old weight, at your age it'll be back in a month.
 
Yu youre right.. pretty simple, massive mucle require havier weight. If you want to burn ecxess fats turn muscle to leaner less weight higher reps 3-4 sets..hit it square. Super sets will give you better n faster result on your goal.. im sure you know wt super sets.. this wil gain you cardio to 30-40% its good to take photos.. a gain still a gain it will motivate you as you see good result... heres me lol.. and no i dont take no illegal supliments

I dont recommend reps to failure. That is idiotic. Your body needs enough stress on your central nervous system to cause adaptation and thats it. Too much stress will lead to you feeling sluggish and sore for days. Not good. Also people will say reps to failure so you can feel the burn. Not a good thing also. That's lactic acid. Form is very important so reduce the weights and work back up.

One important thing about bad form is if you know how to identify what is causing your bad form(usually weak muscle group,weak secondary muscles) you can strengthen the weak links which will help improve your main movements. Generally I'm on the fence of functional strength. Heavy High sets/low reps. By that i mean i want to be strong. The looks of being strong will come. Compared to someone who looks strong but is rather weak compared to their body profile.

Dont be afraid if your form sucks towards the last few reps of your last sets. It's gonna happen. If im suppose to hit 6 reps and my form breaks down after 3 ill stop at 4. But don't try and bang out to many bad form reps. Always good to leave a rep or two in the tank.

Sure being ripped out of your mind is great and the girls love it, but if you cant even carry the cooler of beer to the lake side for those girls then whats the point right? Anyways, i am focusing more on reps (not to exhaustion but more than 6-10) and form until I get back into the swing of things.

What's Great are girls that carry YOUR beer to the side of the lake. Screw workouts, spend time researching markets and investing wisely if you are after pussy. JS
