Rifle Scopes GG&G QD integral NF scope mount

I finally mounted my NF scope on a GG&G scope base w integral rings and I think something isn't right.

I torqued the screws per spec but look at the gap all around on the the rings. I assumed that there would be no gap.
If you have one of these QD mounts please post pics of your assembled mount.

The only 2 things that could happen are:

-The rings will stretch.
-The scope tube will compress.

Neither of those sound healthy by the margin you're picture shows, to me.

Most scope rings leave a gap. If your scope isn't moving or being crushed, you're fine.

I’m not a perfectionist but that gap does seem excessive
