Fieldcraft Ghillie skirt for tripod

I recently purchased one of Tactical Concealment's SC-2 Super Cobra ghillie platforms. Once it arrived I was impressed with the construction and overall design and it got me thinking. I called TC and asked if I could purchase a piece of the material that they use to make the Super Cobra. A few days later the material showed up and I went to work coming up with a pattern to make a skirt for my DCLW tripod. Once I had it figured out I recruited my mother in law for her sewing abilities and she just finished it up for me. Turned out pretty decent, I'll get some garnish put on it once I get my hands on some more.

It isn't nearly as pretty as the Super Cobra but once it's dressed out it'll work just fine. I think I still have enough material to do something similar for the rifle itself. If I get something put together for the rifle I'll post it up as well.

+1 Lonewolf , no need to ghillie empty space, your making a natural area become unnatural by applying camo to it, instead of seeing the empty space with natural background showing through, now you are trying your best to get a "natural" look using camo etc. Instead use boot bands to apply veg to the actual tripod itself and let Nature do what it does best in the empty space

It will help conceal movement and person behind the tripod, say writing on a range card, inputting data in your palm or opening your lunch.

Which is all things your COVER (not concealment) should already be doing.

See, anywhere other than a schoolhouse stalk the critter you are stalking have the ability to send a ballistic care package to "whom it may concern". It's a technique called "recon by fire".

The thought process behind it was the same as the Tactical Concealment Super Cobra Hood. Easy and fast to put on when needed, easy and fast to take off when not. I don't want to dick with anything attached to my tripod if I don't need it on there. String, cords, rubber bands or anything of the sort is going to make it more difficult for me to get the tripod out of my pack and set up.

The paint on the tripod works fine 90% of the time. If I need something more it takes seconds to pull this thing out and put it on the tripod.

I used it to make a leprechaun trap for my daughter. It didn't work, might have used the wrong bait.
