Giving up sniffing glue thread

Since we have a thread on quitting smoking and now on quitting booze…. I wanted to start a thread for those who have given up sniffing glue!

Personally, I think picked the wrong week to give it up.

But maybe next week once this damn plane thing is figured out.

My glue journey started in kindergarten with elmers.
It soon wasn't enough so i tried eating it. That did little for me, so i found this little can in the shop that had a nice soft fuzzy ball attached to the lid, perfect for a quick whiff.

We had a local idiot, Fletcher, who loved huffing paint, particularly metallics. All his mug shots looked like that.
Haven't seen him for a while. Probably dead by now.

The ones who sit in their cars inhaling propane are a special breed. Especially special are those who then light up a cigarette.

All the sudden I want to build a model. Plane, car, ship it doesn't matter. I used to get lost in that for hours when I was a kid. I remember when they came out with the glue that smelled a little like oranges that was supposed to be less toxic mom got me some. It sucked, sucked, sucked. The old model glue was so toxic it melted the plastic together and you just needed a small dab. oh the good old days.

Did you guys know anybody who built stick and tissue free flight airplane models.

We know something that elevates us much, much better than the gateway drug of hufflng paint.

I had a job where I worked with toluene in college. I normally wore gloves when messing with it but if the risk of getting it on my hands was low I’d risk it a lot. One day I started doing a low risk thing that ended up getting it on my hands and taking a lot longer than I thought. Then I realized I was dizzy and had a bad headache. I wore gloves a lot more after that.
