Which would you choose and why? I have an XD-S .45 right now and just looking for a little more ammo capacity.

I've got short fingers and I have a hard time reaching the trigger comfortably on even the 30SF. I know that many believe that it's gotta be a .45 but with the new bullets the 9mm is a great defensive caliber. Just got to put em where it counts. Still the G26 with it's small grip is not the right gun for me. I'd much rather go G19. Much more shootable than the G26 and not so much bigger that it's hard to conceal. I've shot the G34 so much in competition and like the grip size and don't find the G17 hard to conceal in a Comptac Minotaur holster. Still if I was choosing between the two it would be the G26 with good bonded bullets. For a spare mag I'd carry a 17 rounder.
Both 10 rounds but the G26 is considerably smaller (which is a good thing). I've had both, still have the G26. The G30 was nice but super bulky. As mentioned above it's a basically a thicker G19, so if looking for a sub-compact, it's not really a comparison.
I prefer the 9mm v 45 for lethal performance, so this couldn't have been said better.
I have both a G30s and a G19 in my stable. The G19 gets carried unless I'm going to work where I must carry the G30s (or a G21).
Right now it's Sierra 115gr JHP's loaded to 1250fps.
And yes, I've read ALL about the people who get sued every day for shooting someone in self defense with a hand load.
I'm *NOT* trying to knock you, but G30/G26 is not quite a fair comparison. G26 is sub-compact, G30 compact. In that light, or in Glockenese, G30/G19 are both "compact" sized. I find that most people add the +2 mag connector to G26 mags. When doing that, it makes the G26 just about as tall as a G19. I say to them, just get the G19 and carry 15+1 vs 12+1(w/ mag extension.)
The 30 will be a bit bulky for CCW with IWB. I've tried and it's just not fun. OWB, no problem.
If you can, get out and shoot a G19 and G30. Both are great, i own both, love them both. Like a poster above, I carry the G30sf to work. I carry the G19G4 as my primary off-duty. I just like having choices. My wife figures out what she's wearing when we go out. I go to the safe and figure out what heat I'm packing.

i fancy myself a 1911 guy which means the bulk of my shooting is 45 acp. i am however a glock fan. i had a 30 and got rid of it. a 36 and got rid of it. had and got rid of 26 and 27 also. a 17, 19, 42, and a couple 21s are in my stable. looking back now i wish i had kept the 30 & 36 as the 36 slide would work on the 30 frame. 10 + 1 with a slimmer slide for reduced carry profile. i dont get how the weight of the loaded 30 is not an issue but the size of a 21 is. all that said id echo what others have said. get a 19. the 19 is almost the perfect ccw pistol. if Gods sidearm is the 1911, then the glock 19 is what Jesus carried.
There is no reason in a modern pistol with modern defensive rounds to go with .45. They all perform similar, and I am of the camp of more rounds + less recoil along with smaller frame is a good thing.
Suprisingly, my g26's don't recoil much more than my 19. 19 is obviously easier to shoot but the 26 is so small you can drop it in your jean pocket.

This^^^ I carry my G26 sometimes but mostly my G19. I don't feel under gunned with 9mm +P
I have carried my Glock 30 for the past 5 years. Its boxy and kind of clunky but it packs well and shoots great.
The only time I carry a 9mm is if I want more rounds without carrying a spare magazine.
If you want permanent wound cavities without relying on expansion the .45 is your friend.
If you want to carry more rounds but rely on expansion for performance the 9 mm is the ticket.

I agree with these guys. What ever you can shoot the best. If I can put more rounds on target with the 9 then that's what I would use. The 45 don't mean anything if they are going left or right of your target. I don't buy into all the "9 just isn't enough power talk". No bad guy is going to say "that was only a 9 you shot me with, you need 45 to stop me". I'd rather have a 22lr if it meant more rds on target. I'm not a tactical Tom so that's Jmho
Absolutely whatever you shoot the best, and/or will be able to shoot the most to increase that proficiency.
Do you already own other calibers and want to remain caliber consistent?
The two choices may seem like they are the same size, but as others have mentioned, the g26 is much smaller when you to carry it.
Can't go wrong with either as long as you commit to putting a lot of rounds through it to develop and polish your skills.

I have both, a 29 and a 27. I have Milt Sparks VM2's for both (and for a 1006 I never carry) so the rigs are all identical, only the pistol is different. So with three great rigs and two damn nice gun belts, I almost always carry the 27 just due to weight and size. With conceal carry, the thinner the better too, that's more important than length. A 1911 is easier to conceal than either of the Glocks for instance.
Consider you'll carry this likely for the rest of your life but really never use it outside the range (hopefully). So weight and size become bigger issues as you go along. Comfort is paramount, and that's why I feel the belt and holster are more important than the pistol you choose (provided you get something decent).
As for caliber, I have six Glocks in different sizes and calibers. All are great, I love 'em. But the .40 G27 stands out as the best compromise for power/capacity vs. weight/size IMO. I have the choice to grab either and I seldom carry the G29 anymore. I even sold this .40 rig to a friend once and ended up buying it back, it's that damn nice.
They also make the G36, a slim .45. If you really want to carry .45, if that matters, then I'd look hard at this one.

I wish I had one of their belts. My horsehide holster is in about as good shape as it was when I bought it, and the pistol still fits snug after all these years.
