Sidearms & Scatterguns Glock 43 or sig 365

I like the changes in the 19x. The did away with the trigger spring and the round firing pin safety plunger on Gen 5's. I like the magwell too.
I have a gen 3 19 with a lot of rounds and no issues but I hate the serrated triggers on my 43's. I smoothed trigger face down a dab.
Definitely agree about the serrated trigger, but overall I’m very pleased with my 43.

43 is a known entity; you can add 1 or 2 more rounds w extensions. Carrying an extra mag is a must for any CC, and carrying the 43 now I always have one on the left hip. The 43X should have a semi-double stack mag at some point soon.

Huge difference between carrying a 19 and a 43, though the 19 is pretty easy to conceal for my 6' 160 lb frame. 43 disappears. 19X on the other hand is a big ass hog in comparison, especially with the 19X mag.

Not sure if it's true, but I heard most of the metal in the Sig poly frames was made in India. Supposedly Hipoint took a dig at them over at SHOT show because of it, or something.

I've never met a Sig factory trigger I liked and I've never met a Glock grip I liked. I keep a bone stock G19 for my summer EDC simply because it's the standard, in my opinion— though neither would compete to be the gold standard. If Sig could put out a gun that doesn't need a recall I would say they are comparable, when Sigs work that's all there is to it just like a Glock, but Glock has a superior track record as of recent.

I encourage you to try the gen 5 19 and 17/34 as well as the 19X. I'm a died in the wool 19 gen 3 guy, but the grooveless grip is awesome. I match shoot my 19X. It's super fast and easy to shoot; love the central mass of a full mag. Short slide is not an issue for the practical type stuff we shoot locally.

I checked out the 43X at SHOT and it felt good in the hand. A friend that was there talked to the Glock people and the 43 slide will fit on the 43X and 48 frames and vice versa. They said if you already have a 43 you should get the 48 so you can mix and match to have all three models plus the 43 long slide....snip

I bought a 48 last week and shot it yesterday. I ran 100rds through it in stock configuration and another 100rds through it with my 43 slide on top (ala 43x). I love it in the stock configuration as much as I thought I would, shoots smoothly and flatter than I imagined that it could. In 43x configuration, it was noticeably snappier but much better than a standard 43.

When I carried my 43 in the past, I always used a magazine with a vickers +2 extension and the 48 frame is the same height as that setup, with 2 additional rounds. I can see myself carrying in 43x configuration but once a get a 48 compatible holster and new sights for that slide, that will probably win out as the main carry configuration for me.

When Sig comes to the LEO test - dragging slides, mags and frames behind a truck and makes piles with those slides, mags and frames and throws down another pile of barrels and recoil springs and tells everyone to take one part from each of the piles and assemble a gun and those guns shoot 500 rounds without a failure - I'm all in. The Glock armorer did have to replace most of the plastic sights. The Glock is a pretty damn solid design.

I have a G43 & a G27 and CC both. The single stack 9mm virtually disappears, but it doesn’t shoot nearly as smoothly as the .40 and the 13 round mag in the .40 beats the 6 shot 9mm mag all day long. Therefore, I would not recommend the 43. Additionally, I have a SIG P320 X5 that I converted into my match race gun by adding a Romeo1 red dot, 1911 guide rod and 15# spring and a Grayguns comp trigger kit and it shoots like a dream. With the ease of mods to the SIG FCUs and the availability of aftermarket kits these SIGs are easily tuned to your needs...

Comparing SIG & Glock I’d say that my Glocks are great guns, but my SIG is exceptional.

I picked up a 365 last week. I have about 250 rounds through it with no issues thus far. Shot everything, went into battery no failures so far. It carries and shoots phenomenal. There was some news of lots of issues early on. Hopefully they are all cleared up. The 43 is a really nice gun also, but the only department the 43 beats the 365 is potentially reliability.

Which is the most important part.

I would stay away from the SIG. I really want to like it but I personally know several people who have them and they all have had problems. I shot one side by side with my Smith performance center shield. The PC shield shot circles around it. My friend who had the 365 shot it too and he shot the PC Shield much better. The glock is a glock. It will shoot good enough, be reliable and easy to maintain. I carry a CZ PO1 but if I need smaller I carry the PC Shield. Glock 43 better choice of the two you listed in my experience.

The sig is an innovative design that checks so many boxes for me except the main one I need in a carry gun, confidence. Until it does, it’s a glock for me.

As of last night I have shot 1400 rounds through my SIG 365 without a single issue. I keep shooting it at the range and not carrying it because I read they are having problems. At this pace I might wear it out before I ever carry it. Also, I have never cleaned it.

Well........ Unfortunately for me as of last week 450 rounds and had 25-30 failure to extract.?‍♀️ Started at 300 rounds. Different bullet types and grains. happened with all 4 mags. It went back to Sig and will probably be traded or sold upon being returned. Such a neat little gun too bad its STILL not ready for prime time. At least in my case anyways:cautious:

That's solid, but I get the concern too. 1,400 rounds in a small gun with no cleaning is pretty strong.

I have 365s one used and two new. Ishot a couple hundred in the used one and no issues. The new ones about 100 each. Accuracy is better no problems. Carrying HST 147s in allin 12+1 hi caps. Very happy. The 43s and 1 42 are only Glocks I own. 365s do conceal well. I’m happy for now.
