Sidearms & Scatterguns Glock Cerakote Questions

I just picked up a Glock 19 Gen 4 for my girlfriend for Christmas. I just purchased Purple Cerakote to have the slide cerakoted. I have taken down all the slide parts except the plastic liner in the firing pin tube. What temp and time would it need to baked at? Also will the slide need to be blasted first? My friend that works for glock is sending me some night sights and a 4lb connector. Also thinking of cerakoting the mag floor plates, and mag release button. Anything special to do these parts? My local smith is the one going to cerakote it for me but he mainly does rifles and hasn't done a glock slide before.

Remove the stock sites. I would not coat the inside of the slide. You will need to sand blast it. you may want to soak it in a hot water and simple green solution to get any grease out.
then use the low temp cure process.

Degrease with brake cleaner, or equivelant. Plug your firing pin channel with a hightemp silicon plug, or something similar to keep the aluminum oxide and Cerakote out. Media blast with 120 grit aluminum oxide evenly, exterior and interior of the slide. Blow it off and rinse it agian with either brake cleaner or acetone to remove any residue. You will need to apply the Bright Purple a bit thicker than the other Cerakote colors to cover effectively (same as Pink and the other pastel cpolors) or do a white base coat. bake it no higher than 175 degrees, so you dont melt your firing pin channel liner, for two to three hours. When it cools reassemble.

Above is good, solid advice from a pro.

You can also just remove all plastics from the slide and do 300 degrees for 45 minutes. Using an Iwatta LPH80 with a .8 tip, the colors will require you to open the material flow to 2 turns from 1.5. Spray for a wet look but keep your hand/spray gun moving to avoid drips, runs or errors.
