Brand new S&W .460 Magnum, Brand new Remington 700 W/ chassis and scope, Brand new Howa 26" 6.5 Creedmoor w/ Chassis and scope, Brand new Glock 17L, F350, Trailer, Motorcycle and $40k in Electronics to put it on target at over a mile; Gone. Stopped for food on the way home, well lit area with security guards; turned our backs and it was Gone. Last Weekend was our first day off in a year. Moving on, the support from Vendors in the community, who found out, was amazing. We are still stunned and did not get up swinging from this one, but all new gear is on the way and we are going shooting in two weeks. We just finished Zeroing in the new builds and will do so again in two weeks. I'm trying to move out from 1000 yards to two miles and this is a Character Building Experience along the way.

This was in Palmdale, CA and the cops arrived quickly, though there is not much they can do. Don't take your eyes off this stuff, I won't after paying to replace it. On the bright side, the new Rangefinder will link to the Kestrel. Might be time to vacate this state.

I was born and raised in Cali. Born not too far from Palmdale in bishop. We bounced 10 years ago and have never looked back.

So, I finally failed to object to leaving the rig out of my direct sight line, at the end of the day. That is what happened. In an update, a thief was killed stealing a catalytic converter in the exact same location we were ripped off at, a few days later. The lady was sleeping in her car, heard a noise and drove off. The one under the car, cutting out the cat, was squished dead; one less thief to go. Three others were arrested and are now in custody. When we called, the Sherriff noted that quite a few people, who had been robbed there, were wanting to find out who they were and when they were going to be released. Funny that, it sounds like the victims want to hold a party for them. It is all fun until you get caught.

On the bright side, I've replaced the guns and equipment (except the brand new 460 magnum, which is currently out of stock). I managed to upgrade to a Leica 3800 rangemaster, that will link the the new Kestrel. That is about the only bright side. I'm a little old for character building events like this. I'm getting to be a bit more partial to the first book in the Bible and their attitude towards this type of nonsense.

Insurance companies are not much interested in replacing super expensive specialty rifles and don't even want to talk about range finders capable of 2 miles. They don't replace Long Shot cameras either, but the folks over there helped us out, since it was the first time we used it- get one of those! They stole my motorcycle and me knees are old, so I need a camera now. I'm out about $40K, give or take a few, and I am really glad they did not get the big expensive guns. I intend to hit the target at two miles or die trying.

I don't think we need to get involved. They mentioned that Quite a Few people were interested in these guys. I'm trying to find a 460 magnum in stock. We were planning on a full Cannon this year, but might get delayed due to this nonsense. Back up your phone too, that will save you bunch of trouble.

I don't mean to Monday morning quarter back this, but for others that have expensive and highly pilfer able items, Airtags work and are $20 a piece at Costco. Easy to put in a rifle case in the foam or inside a trailer that could easily be hauled off. The look on peoples faces when the law shows up inside an hour is definitely worth the $20, if not the hassle.

The anti-stalking feature that Apple added to the Airtags will notify the perps, if they have an iPhone or the Andriod app.

But there are some modified Airtags available where the speaker has been or can be disabled.

The .308 and the Howa 6.5 are the small practice guns. They did not get the .338 Lapua Magnum and the .50 BMG, both of which are Worthy Long Distance Rifles. My guess is that a 2 mile gun would cost less that what I just replaced. I imagine that the small practice guns and the .338/.50 need to be mastered before attempting a 2 mile stunt; I am motivated, not conceited. Just another goal to achieve. And there are Cannons. We were planning to move on to a Full Sized Cannon this year (different forum!), but this and the 2 Mile gun may be running a year behind now. Even better than Air Tags, is not getting pressured to let this type of stuff out of your sight; I never let this stuff out of sight before.
