It doesn’t matter. This isn’t Minority Report. More background checks isn’t going to do anything but erode more rights. If someone is squeaky clean no background check, no matter how deep it is, is going to stop anything. It’s just not possible unless we can somehow start reading peoples minds.
They will TRY to take your guns and it will come in steps.
- "Common Sense" gun laws - - double speak for more repressive laws limiting ownership of SA and hi cap magazines
- Registration of SA "Assault Weapons" and a ban on manufacture of new ones - - matter of time before some POTUS caves and allows this to occur. Question remains as to what punitive steps will they impose to increase the rate of registration from a historical 3-5%
- Ban on all SA weapons - - based on perceived safety from "Domestic" terrorism
- Confiscation - - highly dependent on the effectiveness of the registration step
Up to you whether you will hand them over or not.
Disarmament is virtually impossible in the US....they have no idea where 40-50% of the 300 million (or is it 400 million) firearms are by their own admission. THE GOVERNMENT KNOWS THIS....

The Lt. Governor of TX made a great point. Guns have always been ubiquitous in America, and we've never had a rash of these shootings. When things change do you look at the way it's always been, or do you identify what has changed?
Just as an exercise in simple logic it is not the guns that are causing this, and taking them away from the law abiding will not stop it.

You may be right but I don't think Maggot is offering spiritual advice as I interpret it. I think he's opening a door between peoples of different faiths to reach understanding.
I think it's more critical to act in a manner that professes your faith and spirituality through action.

If you asked the man himself he would have stated (and did) unequivocally that he was a Christian. Jefferson asked a lot of questions, and was probably our most deeply theological President, but it was all in the light of a deep reverence for Christianity and the teachings of Jesus.

Not exactly what 'Christ' proscribed in his teachings. Im from Charlottesville and attended 'Mr. Jefferson's University' so believe me Im familiar with his activities. The fact is that most of the founders were not strictly 'Christian' but from a broad religious diversity. Many were what we consider today, 'Deists'.

Don't drag your religion into this. Your answer isn't mine. Atheists and non-Christians are just as deserving of living in this Republic and enjoying its Constitutional protections. Liberty and justice should be for all equally.
The narrative is the same as it always has been since I was a kid. People have been clamoring for more gun control since I can remember and that is a long time. Fact is...our rights continue to get chipped away....little by little. The gun grabbers like most moochers know that a wholesale act would cause a problem and they are patient. They will continue to take all small victories towards the ultimate aim at disarming the populace. At that point they are in complete control and can do as they please.

There were few if none of these events in a period where firearms laws were lax. Why continue to argue it. These people know it and don't care....they want DISARMAMENT. Stop thinking you can change it...you can't
