So i have recently gotten more into PRS, I've had a Thompson Center LRR in 6.5 creed for about a year now but I've found myself wanting to take things a bit more seriously. That being said i placed an order for a MPA PMR 6.5 PRC. My current trainer is a CZ457 22lr in a manners carbon stock.

Id like a 223/5.56 Trainer to get a "more" equivalent recoil, but i'm torn on what id like to get. here is a list of the few that im thinking about:
1. CZ 527 MTR
2. RPR
3. Bergara HMR PRO
4. APR Build
5. MPA Build
6. Christensen Arms MPR

the Bergara, APR, MPA, and Christensen Arms MPR would have to be delayed due to cost. the CZ and the RPR would be bought now.

Any suggestions at all are appreciated.

Man do I have the rifle for you lol I have a tikka t3 tactical in .223 with a 20” 1/8twist barrel. It shoots sub moa all day no issues. It’s in the factory adjustable stock, and has a yodave trigger spring. But any .223 tikka will do you wonders man as a trainer.

Factory rem 700 dropped in a grayboe stock, pst gen 2. Loading 52gr custom comp with w780 on my dillon 550c. Lets me shoot 150 rounds a sesh for cheapish. Have about 4k rounds thru it. Shoots maybe 3/4 moa at best. As time goes by, looking to save up for a dedicated 223 rig on maybe a black bear action. But cant beat the current setup for budget training.

That what I did with my origin after this season, picked up a TL3 for next season and turned the origin into a backup/trainer since it’s such an easy process to swap barrels.

Now that you’ve got a custom rifle getting build, I’d get a 223 bolt and barrel coming. You’ll need a Curtis customs bolt and a barrel for an axiom so you’re looking at 375 for a bolt and keystone barrels for the axiom are like 425ish.

How are y’all quickly removing the primer crimp from LC or other brass?

I have a Dillon Super Swage 600. Goes quick. Thats said- I dont usually remove the crimp from LC 556 brass. They are pretty lightly crimped. I just did 350 pieces this weekend for their first time and only 3 I had to go back and swage as the primer wouldnt seat. I do hand prime so I can feel the resistance though so YMMV. I do have to decrimp the Wolf brass though as it had a heavier crimp.
