Re: Good .308 Die Set for Factory Remington Chamber
"I'm mainly looking at minimal run out."
I suppose it's safe to say we all look for that. Sad to say, it takes a LOT more than simply buying a specific brand of dies to achieve that. Fact is, there is as much variation between dies of the same maker as between makers!
Most run-out comes from defective case necks and no fancy seater can correct for that. Good cases, with good necks, properly sized for minimun neck run-out and not undersized more thnn one, maybe two at most, thou and seated in tightly fitted die that holds the full length of the case (meaning Forster or Redding) dies will do as well as can be done.
Even with all that, it will require testing each loaded round and culling non-concentic cases as neccessary.
For our deliberately loose, sloppy factory chamber necks I strongly suggest neck sizing with a Lee collet neck die and use a body/shoulder bump die instead of an FL die. Don't bother with any "bushing" neck dies, they were developed for tight BR chambers and precisely neck turned cases but that ain't us! Lee's simple die gives the straighest necks with the least fuss of any I've tried, and I've tried most! (Well, I haven't tried Hornady's bushing dies but...?)
