Does anyone know of a good ballistics app for Windows Phone 8? I know Sierra has one, but it seems to be limited to Sierra bullets only. Are there any other notable programs?

Coldbore. That real expensive one that is actually the best one. Most of us have lowly android or ios. And look for Windows Phone is free right now. You lucky dog.

ColdBore 1.0 | Windows Phone Apps+Games Store (United States)

Haha, I will give it a shot, no pun intended. I purchased the Sierra Infinity app, it seems to have a very large bullet library (I was trying out the app before buying, one thing I like about Windows Phone, and the trial did not include the bullet library) as well as a lot of options for your shooting scenario. I will give ColdBore a look as well.

Coldbore on a windows phone is excellent. I have been playing with it for a few weeks now. (I am an iPhone user)

The beauty with Coldbore is, you can install it on your Windows Computer, and use the desktop feature, which will talk to Microsoft's SkyDrive, and then it transfers the data to the Windows Phone. (and vice versa)

It's an excellent interface when you compare it to other phone Apps... (comparing it to iPhone apps) I find Coldbore to much easier to use, and very good because it is not Point Mass based, which is the limiting factor to most Apps and other ballistic programs out there. Coldbore is worth the investment especially if you are a Windows User.

The single user cost give you a desktop version, a Mobile PDA version and a Free Windows Phone Version.

I did not know that, thanks for the information Frank.

Hi Gents, just got a WP8 myself (Lumia 925) and downloaded Coldbore 1.0 free version, but I can not find the bundle of this App !

Is there a user manual somewhere ?
I keep going back and forth but can not find a way to put my loading data in.... :-(
Or is there a better App for Windows Phone ?
I am aware of Sierra Infinity and Strelok....
What do you Guys think ?

Thanks for you help.

Here's the link to download some tutorial about it. You need to either have PowerPoint or Download a free powerpoint viewer... more info. at the given link below.
Check the second link on how the app can be fully unlocked... Without unlocking all works except being able to save Data... if memory serves me right

CB1.0 Tutorial for Broz & BnG LR Solucions --Step By Step--

ColdBore 1.0 for Windows Phone FREE? Seriously, no joke!!

Here's the link to download some tutorial about it........

Thanks Eaglet....
I have downloaded your tutorial and tried to follow the steps....
Unfortunately, it won't let me save any load data.
I go to analyzer and enter my parameters, but when i go to "ballistics-solution" I can not find any record, as it tells me "no data"

Any idea on what I am doing wrong ?

Thanks

I think you have to have the Coldbore desktop in order to use the phone App.

I believe the license is connected, with the desktop license, you get the PDA mobile, and Phone App.

Here is a copy and paste info.

"The program is absolutely free, but still requires registration in order to unlock data saving and data download. Except for these, the rest is 100% functional.

Why? Because all current users of ColdBore 1.0 Desktop edition are the only ones who will be granted a license, since the rationale behind the Phone edition was to make it a “community edition”. In no way a license will be charged, since the package is 100% for free a point worth to stress.

In short, if you want to license the Phone edition, first become a Desktop edition registered user if not already."

First time I have tried CB 1.0 my phone was running WP8.
Now I have upgraded to WP8.1

Let's see if I got it right.....

The phone edition is a "Plus" (free addition) to all Coldbore 1.0 Users who have purchased the Desktop edition ? (who will then be granted a free license to run the phone edition...).

Correct ?

It's free for everybody; anyone can run it without registering it, but you won't be able to save the data you have entered nor download any data from online. A none registered app will no save your entered data, so
when you go back into the app again you need to re-enter everything.

There are many of us that already owned Coldbore 1.0 for PC when ColdBore for Windows Phone came out and all we had to do was to send en email to register it and we got the app fully unlocked to where
we now would be able to save data entered, and we would not have to re-enter it again, you would just recall whatever track you need to use. ColdBore would also allow you to create a free account at OneDrive (online thing hosted by Microsoft)
and you would be able to backup all you data, called tracks, and if you were to loose them from your phone, or replaced your phone, you would be able to fetch the data you saved on OneDrive online back into you windows phone.
