You guys think this is a good deal? Im guessing the only difference between these and the Sierra MK BTHP, are the ones below are NOT Hollow Point.

MB118 MIL-SPEC 30 CAL 175GR FMJBT SNIPER BULLET $95.00/500 rounds OR $379/2000 rounds

Re: Good Deal on Bullets?

Isn't 'Mil-Spec' the company that makes those bulk 168gr SMK clones that Wideners sells? Those things are wildly inconsistent in about any measurement you make. Great for run-n-gun, short-range blasting, but that's about it.

Re: Good Deal on Bullets?

If its advertised as a "sniper bullet"- more than likely you want to stay away. This falls under the same rule as anything (cheap) labeled as tactical, sniper (*cough* counter sniper scopes *cough*) etc. Just my .01

Yeah, if they're USGI, they're 173gr FMJ/BT and decent practice bullets. 175gr SMK pulls would be nice at a decent price, but Prvi Partisan is making clones that Wideners sells, so just be careful.

If you can get them cheap enough, sure. Paying close to top dollar for middle shelf, not so much so.

Re: Good Deal on Bullets?

I'd stay away... Widener's had some of those type bullets and, I loaded a few of them... they SUCK! They are made by privi, by the way.

They vary in weight by over a grain each... the ass end of them is so inconsistant that there are almost 950 of them under my bench at the moment.....

Want to buy them??

Re: Good Deal on Bullets?

I have some of these and the "168HPBT" from Privi. They are NOT a precision bullet, but they're OK for positional practice, which is what I use them for.

About 1.5moa is best you can hope for.

Re: Good Deal on Bullets?

I agree with whats has been stated above , The Privis are marginal at best

You can catch SMKs on sale occasionally , and I would take about any factory seconds over the Privi branded YMMV
